The recently released family entertainer Little Hearts, starring Mouli Tanuj and Shivani Nagaram, has emerged as a surprise box-office success. Making his debut as Director of Photography, Surya Balaji has impressed both audiences and industry insiders with his visual storytelling.

By adopting a guerrilla-style shooting technique across Hyderabad and Bengaluru, he elevated the film’s appeal using natural locations and close-up shots of the actors. Speaking about the response, Surya Balaji said he is overwhelmed to see packed shows not only in urban centers but also in B and C centers. “I never expected this level of recognition for my first film. The response has been beyond my imagination, and I feel truly happy,” he shared.

What makes Little Hearts stand out is its balance—it steers away from being either a full-on commercial spectacle or an overly realistic drama. Instead, director Sai Marthand has delivered a dialogue-driven, wholesome family entertainer that resonates across generations. Surya Balaji’s lens has played a key role in bringing that vision alive on screen, proving that even with a compact budget, impactful visuals can elevate storytelling to the next level.

లిటిల్ హార్ట్స్ సినిమాకు వస్తున్న రెస్పాన్స్ చూస్తుంటే చాలా హ్యాపీగా ఉందని, బీ, సీ సెంటర్స్ లో కూడా థియేటర్స్ హౌస్ ఫుల్స్ కావడం నమ్మలేకపోతున్నామని సూర్య బాలాజీ అంటున్నారు.  ఈ చిత్రానికి తనకు ఆశించిన దానికంటే ఎక్కువ గుర్తింపు రావడం హ్యాపీగా ఉందన్నారు. కంప్లీట్ కమర్షియల్ గా కాకుండా, కంప్లీట్ రియలెస్టిక్ గా కాకుండా ప్రేక్షకుల్ని ఆకట్టుకునే ఒక డైలాగ్ బేస్డ్ హోస్ సమ్ ఫ్యామిలీ ఎంటర్ టైనర్ ను దర్శకుడు సాయి మార్తాండ్ రూపొందించినట్లు సూర్య బాలాజీ చెప్పారు.
