Hey Bhagavan will have emotion along with entertainment – B. Narendra Reddy

After recently delivering blockbuster films like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambai, and Eesha, the successful duo Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are now bringing a full-length, out-and-out entertainer titled Hey Bhagavan under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works.

The film stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanthi in key roles. Directed by Gopi Achara, the film is produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner. The movie is set to release on February 20. On this occasion, producer B. Narendra Reddy shared details about the film with the media.

What is your background? How did you develop an interest in films?
I am originally from Proddatur in Kadapa district. Currently, I am in the construction field in Bengaluru. I have loved movies since childhood. Because of that interest, I entered the Kannada film industry as a producer. Hey Bhagavan is my first film as a producer in Telugu.

How did you enter the film industry?
I used to finance films in the Kannada film industry. Later, due to my passion for films, I became a producer.

How did the Hey Bhagavan project get finalized?
I heard this story through our company’s executive producer Ramana Reddy. Before Hey Bhagavan, I heard ten stories, but none impressed me. The moment I heard this story, I found it very entertaining and interesting. It is a film that has both entertainment and emotional depth.

What is the main reason for doing this film? How was your first film experience?
I liked the story, so I am doing this film. The movie was completed within budget. Everything went according to planning. Every rupee spent on the film will be visible on screen. The output is very high quality. Especially, the father-son emotion in this movie will touch everyone’s hearts.

What was your feeling after watching the film?
The same feeling I got while hearing the story — the audience will feel the same thrill after watching the film. Every scene is entertaining and interesting. Hero Suhas, actor Naresh, comedians Sudarshan and Vennela Kishore — every character will entertain the audience well.

Are there twists in the interval and climax portions?
Definitely. The screenplay will be beyond audience expectations. Every scene will feel fresh.

How is it working with Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati for releasing this film?
My association with Vamsi has been there from the beginning. He knows this story. I am travelling along with him. With their association, my confidence in the film’s success has increased.

How much involvement do you have in the film as a producer?
We don’t get involved in the creative process. Our responsibility is until approving the story. After that, we monitor whether the film is happening within budget, what was shot each day, and track everything from a producer’s perspective.

Do you feel selecting a story and producing a film is risky?
If a story can engage the audience for two hours, it will definitely be a blockbuster. The audience should not disconnect from the story. Even while listening to stories, I follow this principle. Since I loved films from childhood, I don’t feel production is a big risk.

What experience did you gain through this film?
I have been in production backend work since 2017. I have experience. I know how to make films with proper planning, discipline, and proper guidance. That’s why I did this film with interest.

What kind of films do you like to make?
I want to make emotional movies with fun elements. Construction and film production are very different.

Your next film?
It will be based on friendship. Satyadev will act as the hero. Lakshminarayana will direct it.

This will be an out-and-out commercial movie in a genre Satyadev has not explored before. Faria Abdullah will play the heroine.

మీ నేపథ్యం ఏమిటి? సినిమాలపై ఆసక్తి ఎలా కలిగింది?
 కడప జిల్లా లోని ప్రొద్దుటూరు నా స్వస్థలం. ప్రస్తుతం నేను బెంగుళూరులో కన్‌స్ట్రక్షన్‌ రంగంలో ఉన్నాను. చిన్నప్పటి నుండి సినిమాలంటే ఎంతో ఇష్టం. ఆ ఇష్టంతోనే కన్నడంలో నిర్మాతగా ప్రవేశించాను. తెలుగులో నిర్మాతగా తొలిసినిమా ‘హే భగవాన్‌’

సినీ పరిశ్రమలోకి ఎలా ప్రవేశించారు?
కన్నడ సినీ పరిశ్రమలో సినిమాలకు ఫైనాన్స్‌ ఇచ్చేవాడిని. ఇక సినిమాలంటే పాషన్‌తో నిర్మాతగా మారాను.
 
హేభగవాన్‌ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ ఎలా సెట్‌ అయ్యింది?
మా సంస్థలో ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్‌ నిర్మాత రమణా రెడ్డి ద్వారా ఈ కథ విన్నాను. హే భగవాన్‌ కంటే ముందు పది కథలు విన్నాను. కానీ ఏది నచ్చలేదు. ‘హే భగవాన్‌’ కథ వినగానే ఎంతో ఎంటర్‌టైనింగ్‌గా ఆసక్తిగా అనిపించింది. ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్‌తో పాటు ఎమోషనల్‌గా ఉండే సినిమా ఇది.

ఈ సినిమా చేయడానికి ప్రధాన కారణం ఏమిటి? తొలి సినిమా అనుభవం ఎలా ఉంది?
స్టోరీ నచ్చి ఈ సినిమా చేస్తున్నాను. బడ్జెట్‌లోనే సినిమా జరిగింది. ప్రతిది ప్లానింగ్‌ ప్రకారమే వెళ్లాం. సినిమాకు పెట్టిన ప్రతి రూపాయి తెరపై కనిపిస్తుంది. అంతా క్వాలిటీగా అవుట్‌పుట్‌ ఉంటుంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఈ సినిమాలో ఫాదర్‌, సన్‌ ఎమోషన్‌ అందరి హృదయాలను హత్తుకుంటుంది.

సినిమా చూసిన తరువాత మీ ఫీలింగ్‌ ఏమిటి?
సినిమా కథ విన్నప్పుడు నేను ఏదైతే ఫీల్‌ అయ్యానో రేపు సినిమా చూసిన తరువాత కూడా ఆడియన్స్‌ కూడా అదే థ్రిల్ల్‌ ఫీలవుతారు. ప్రతి సన్నివేశం ఎంతో ఎంటర్‌టైనింగ్‌గా ఆసక్తిగా ఉంటుంది. సినిమాలో హీరో సుహాస్‌, నటుడు నరేష్‌, కమెడియన్ సుదర్శన్‌, వెన్నెల కిషోర్‌ ఇలా ప్రతి పాత్ర ఆడియన్స్‌ను బాగా ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌ చేస్తుంది.

సినిమాలో ఇంటర్వెల్‌, పతాక సన్నివేశాల్లో ట్విస్ట్‌లు ఉంటాయా?
ఖచ్చితంగా ఆడియన్స్‌ ఊహకు అందని విధంగా ఈ సినిమా స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఉంటుంది. ప్రతి సన్నివేశం కొత్తగా అనిపిస్తుంది.

బన్నీవాస్‌, వంశీ నందిపాటితో కలిసి ఈ సినిమా విడుదల చేయడం ఎలా ఉంది?
బన్నీ వాస్‌, వంశీతో ట్రావెల్‌ వంశీ మొదట్నుంచీ ఉంది.  ఈ కథ గురించి వంశీ నందిపాటికి తెలుసు. ఆయనతో ట్రావెల్‌ అవుతున్నాను. వాళ్ల అసోసియేషన్‌తో ఈ సినిమా విజయంపై మరింత నమ్మకం పెరిగింది.

నిర్మాతగా మీ ఇన్‌వాల్వ్‌మెంట్‌ ఈసినిమాలో ఎంత వరకు ఉంటుంది?
క్రియేటివ్‌ ప్రాసెస్‌లో మా ఇన్‌వ్వాల్వ్‌మెంట్‌ ఏమీ వుండదు. కథ ఓకే చేయడం వరకు మన బాధ్యత, ఆతరువాత సినిమా బడ్జెట్‌లోనే జరగుతుందా? లేదా షూటింగ్‌ ఈ రోజే ఏం చేశారు? ఇలా ప్రతిది నిర్మాతగా చెక్‌ చేసుకుంటాను.  

సినిమా నిర్మాణంతో పాటు ఓ కథను ఎంచుకుని సినిమా తీయడ, జడ్జ్‌ చేయడం రిస్క్‌ అనిపించటం లేదా?
రెండు గంటలు ఆడయన్స్‌ను కథ ఎంగేజ్‌ చేయగలిగితే ఆ సినిమా తప్పకుండా బ్లాక్‌బస్టరే. ఆడియన్‌ కథతో డిస్‌కనెక్ట్‌ కాకూడదు. నేను కథ వినేటప్పుడు కూడా ఇదే ఫాలో అవుతాను. చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి సినిమాలంటే ఆసక్తి ఉంది. దీంతో నాకు నిర్మాణం పెద్ద రిస్క్‌ అనిపించడం లేదు.

ఈ సినిమా ద్వారా మీరు సంపాందించిన ఎక్స్‌పీరియన్స్‌?  
2017 నుంచి ప్రొడక్షన్‌ బ్యాక్‌ ఎండ్‌లో ఉన్నాను. నాకు అనుభవం ఉంది. ప్రాపర్‌, ప్లానింగ్‌, డిసిప్లేన్‌తో ఉండటం, ప్రాపర్‌ గైడెన్స్‌తో సినిమా చేయడం నాకు తెలుసు. అందుకే నేను సినిమా నిర్మాణాన్ని కూడా ఇష్టంతోనే చేశాను.

మీకు ఎలాంటి సినిమాలు చేయడం అంటే ఇష్టం?
ఎమోషన్‌ మూవీస్‌ విత్‌ ఫన్‌వే సినిమాలు చేయాలని ఉంది. కన్‌స్ట్రక్షన్స్‌, సినిమా నిర్మాణానికి చాలా తేడా ఉంటుంది.

మీ తదుపరి సినిమా?
ఫ్రెండ్‌షిప్‌ నేపథ్యంలో ఈ సినిమా ఉంటుంది. సత్యదేవ్‌ హీరోగా నటిస్తాడు.   లక్ష్మీనారాయణ దర్శకుడు.
