Couple Friendly is a film that appeals not only to youth but also to family audiences – Dheeraj Mogilineni

“Couple Friendly” stars Santosh Soban as the hero and Manasa Varanasi as the heroine. Presented by the prestigious production house UV Creations, the film is being grandly produced in Telugu and Tamil under the banner of UV Concepts. Ajay Kumar Raju P. is the co-producer, and Ashwin Chandrasekhar is directing the film. Made as a musical romantic love story, “Couple Friendly” is set to release in Telugu and Tamil on February 14, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Passionate producer and distributor Dheeraj Mogilineni is releasing the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In a recent interview, he shared the highlights of the movie.

– I watched “Couple Friendly” fifteen days ago and really liked it. I called Pramod anna and Vamsi anna and told them I wanted to distribute this film. After they agreed, I took up the project. It’s a beautiful love story set against the backdrop of Chennai. Looking at the title, many may think it’s a film meant only for youth, but that’s not true. The movie also has strong family emotions. Audiences will see the journey of two characters, Shiva and Mitra.

– The film includes only about 15 minutes related to the concept of a live-in relationship. The rest of the story focuses on how Mitra and Shiva’s lives change after they meet, and how they support each other. The hero comes from Nellore to Chennai, trying to settle down as an interior designer. The heroine comes from Chittoor to Chennai in search of a job. What happens after they meet forms the core story.

– The heroine keeps telling the hero that she has something to tell him, creating a bit of suspense. That element is intentionally maintained in the film. The censor board raised objections about the title and suggested that we change it. However, we said we couldn’t make any changes at this stage. There should be a new system where titles receive prior approval from the censor board at the registration stage itself. It’s not just our film; recently, even a film titled “Chaiwala” faced similar objections.

– Santosh Soban’s performance as Shiva will impress everyone. He has delivered a very settled and mature performance. Everyone wishes for Santosh to score a good hit with this film. We hope this movie becomes a hit for him and helps him grow into a bigger star. When young heroes like Santosh achieve success, they get more opportunities, and the industry benefits overall.

– The film was shot extensively in Chennai. Shooting in Chennai is very difficult, as getting permissions is challenging even Tamil films face issues. However, the team shot the film using a guerrilla-style approach. Recently, we had to adopt a similar method while shooting for “Chennai Love Story.”

– “Couple Friendly” is a heart-touching love story that families can watch together. With our films, we usually move audiences emotionally. While director Ashwin may not make the audience cry, he has made a deeply touching film. His script is perfectly structured, with every scene linked seamlessly to the next. He has not only written a strong script but also presented it in a way that connects with all audiences. After watching the film, we felt that if we had been involved from the beginning, we might have made it 10 percent more intense. However, it’s not appropriate for distributors to suggest changes after the film is complete. The director, hero, and production house believed in this story from the start.

– I distribute films that I personally like. Without any hurry, I choose only those that genuinely impress me. Currently, “Couple Friendly” is competing with Sitar’s “Funky” film. There is also competition in terms of theatres. On Valentine’s Day, re-releases like “Manasantha Nuvve” and “Love Story” are also hitting screens. Since ours is a new film, it will have its own audience, just as those films will have theirs. Re-releases depend on the producers’ choice. However, except for a few major star heroes, re-releases for other heroes haven’t shown significant results.

– Presently, the shooting of “Chennai Love Story” is underway. We are also producing a film with Sangeeth Soban as the hero. Additionally, we are making a children’s film with young kids, which will release in the summer. We are in script discussions with a few star heroes and will announce a film with one of them under our banner within this year.

– పదిహేను రోజుల క్రితం “కపుల్ ఫ్రెండ్లీ” సినిమా చూశాను. మూవీ బాగా నచ్చింది. ప్రమోద్ అన్నకు వంశీ అన్నకు కాల్ చేసి ఈ సినిమా నేను డిస్ట్రిబ్యూట్ చేయాలని అనుకుంటున్నా అని అడిగాను. వారు ఓకే చెప్పడంతో  ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ టేకప్ చేశాను. ఇది చెన్నై బ్యాక్ డ్రాప్ లో సాగే మంచి లవ్ స్టోరీ మూవీ. టైటిల్ చూసి ఇదోదే ఓన్లీ యూత్ చూడాల్సిన సినిమా అనుకుంటున్నారు. అది నిజం కాదు. ఈ సినిమాలో ఫ్యామిలీ ఎమోషన్స్ ఉంటాయి. శివ, మిత్ర అనే రెండు క్యారెక్టర్స్ జర్నీ చూస్తారు.

– “కపుల్ ఫ్రెండ్లీ” మూవీలో లివ్ ఇన్ రిలేషన్ షిప్ గురించి కేవలం 15 నిమిషాలు మాత్రమే సీన్స్ ఉంటాయి. మిగతా అంతా మిత్ర, శివ అనే జంట ఒకరికొకరు పరిచయం అయ్యాక వారి జీవితాలు ఎలా మారాయి. వీళ్లు ఒకరి కొకరు ఎలా సపోర్ట్ చేసుకున్నారు అనేదే చూపిస్తున్నాం. హీరో నెల్లూరు నుంచి వచ్చి చెన్నైలో ఇంటీరియర్ డిజైనర్ గా సెటిల్ అవ్వాలని ప్రయత్నిస్తుంటాడు. హీరోయిన్ చిత్తూరు నుంచి చెన్నై జాబ్ కోసం వస్తుంది. వీళ్లు కలిశాక ఏమైంది అనేది కథ

– హీరోయిన్ ప్రతి సందర్భంలో చెప్తాను చెప్తాను అని హీరోతో అంటూ ఉంటుంది. కొంచెం సస్పెన్స్ దాచేందుకే ఆమె అలా చెబుతుంటుంది. ఈ సినిమా టైటిల్ విషయంలో సెన్సార్ అభ్యంతరం చెప్పారు. టైటిల్ మార్చమని అన్నారు. కానీ మేము ఇప్పుడు టైటిల్ విషయంలో ఎలాంటి మార్పులు చేయలేమని చెప్పాం. టైటిల్ రిజిస్ట్రేషన్ విషయంలో మొదటి నుంచే సెన్సార్ వారి అనుమతి ఇచ్చేలా ఒక కొత్త పద్ధతి రావాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. మాకే కాదు ఈ మధ్య చాయ్ వాలా అనే సినిమాకు కూడా సెన్సార్ వారు అభ్యంతరం తెలిపారు.

– “కపుల్ ఫ్రెండ్లీ”లో శివ పాత్రలో సంతోష్ శోభన్ పర్ ఫార్మెన్స్ మనందరికీ చాలా నచ్చుతుంది. ఎంతో సెటిల్డ్ గా ఆయన నటించారు. సంతోష్ శోభన్ కు మంచి హిట్ రావాలని ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ కోరుకుంటున్నారు. ఈ సినిమాతో ఆయనకు హిట్ రావాలి. అలాగే మంచి స్టార్ కావాలని మేము కోరుకుంటున్నాం. సంతోష్ లాంటి యంగ్ హీరోలకు సక్సెస్ వస్తే వాళ్లు మరిన్ని మూవీస్ చేస్తారు. ఇండస్ట్రీ బాగుంటుంది.

– ఈ సినిమా కోసం చెన్నై నగరంలో షూటింగ్ చేశారు. చెన్నైలో షూటింగ్ చేయడం చాలా కష్టం. పర్మిషన్స్ ఇవ్వరు. తమిళ చిత్రాలకు కూడా పర్మిషన్స్ ఉండవు. కానీ ఈ సినిమా టీమ్ మాత్రం గెరిల్లా పద్ధతిలో షూటింగ్ చేశారు. ఇటీవల మేము చెన్నై లవ్ స్టోరీ సినిమా కోసం చెన్నైలో ఇలాగే షూటింగ్ చేయాల్సివచ్చింది.


– “కపుల్ ఫ్రెండ్లీ” ఫ్యామిలీ అంతా కలిసి చూసేలా ఉండే మంచి లవ్ స్టోరీ. మేము మా చిత్రాలతో ప్రేక్షకులు ఎమోషన్ తో ఏడిపిస్తాం. అయితే ఈ చిత్ర దర్శకుడు అశ్వన్ ప్రేక్షకుల్ని ఏడిపించలేదు గానీ హార్ట్ టచింగ్ గా మూవీ చేశారు. ఆయన ఈ సినిమాకు చేసిన స్క్రిప్ట్ పర్పెక్ట్ గా ఉంది. ప్రతి సీన్ కు మరొక సీన్ తో లింకు ఉండేలా పక్కాగా స్క్రిప్ట్ చేసుకున్నారు. స్క్రిప్ట్ తో పాటు ఆ కథను అందరికీ నచ్చేలా తెరకెక్కించారు. అయితే సినిమా చూశాక మేము ముందు నుంచి ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ లో ఉంటే ఇంకో పది పర్సెంట్ ఇంటెన్స్ గా చేయగలిగి ఉండేవాళ్లం. డిస్ట్రిబ్యూషన్ చేస్తూ మూవీలో మార్పులు చెప్పడం కరెక్ట్ కాదు. ఇది డైరెక్టర్, హీరో, ప్రొడక్షన్ హౌస్ మొదటి నుంచి నమ్మి చేసిన కథ.

– నా మనసుకు నచ్చిన మూవీస్ ను డిస్ట్రిబ్యూట్ చేస్తుంటాను. ఎలాంటి హర్రీ లేకుండా బాగుంది అనిపించినవే పంపిణీ చేస్తాను. ఇప్పుడు మా కపుల్ ఫ్రెండ్లీ మూవీకి సితార వారి ఫంకీ మూవీకి మధ్య పోటీ ఉంది. థియేటర్స్ విషయంలోనూ కాంపిటేషన్ కనిపిస్తోంది. వాలెంటైన్స్ డే కు మనసంతా నువ్వే, లవ్ స్టోరీ రిలీజ్ అవుతున్నాయి. మాది కొత్త సినిమా కాబట్టి మా మూవీకి ఉండే ఆడియెన్స్ మాకుంటారు. ఆ చిత్రాలకు ఉండే ఆడియెన్స్ వాటికి ఉంటాయి. రీ రిలీజ్ అంటే ఆ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ ఇష్టం. అయితే ఐదారుగురు స్టార్ హీరోల విషయంలో తప్ప మిగతా హీరోలకు రీ రిలీజ్ లు పెద్దగా వర్కవుట్ అయినట్లు కనిపించడం లేదు.

– ప్రస్తుతం చెన్నై లవ్ స్టోరీ షూటింగ్ జరుగుతోంది. సంగీత్ శోభన్ హీరోగా ఓ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మిస్తున్నాం. అలాగే చిన్న పిల్లలతో ఓ చిల్డ్రన్ మూవీ చేస్తున్నాం. అది సమ్మర్ లో రిలీజ్ చేస్తాం. కొందరు స్టార్ హీరోలతో స్క్రిప్ట్ డిస్కషన్స్ జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ ఏడాదిలో ఒక స్టార్ తో మా సంస్థలో మూవీ అనౌన్స్ చేస్తాం.
