56th IFFI to Felicitate NBK on Completion of 50 Glorious Years in Indian Cinema

The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), organized by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and the Government of Goa, is proud to announce the grand felicitation of Telugu cinema icon and Padma Bhushan Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna during the festival’s spectacular Opening Ceremony on November 20th.

Marking a historic milestone, IFFI 2025 will celebrate 50 golden years of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema. The actor, widely revered as ‘Balayya’ by millions of fans, will be honoured in the presence of dignitaries, filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts at the Grand Opening Ceremony.

The vibrant ceremony will feature cultural performances, artistic floats, and tableaux led by leading production houses, state governments, and cultural troupes, symbolizing the fusion of storytelling, tradition, and cinematic excellence.

Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna, a recipient of Padma Bhushan, one of the revered honour of the India and three Nandi Awards has delivered over 100 films across five decades, with iconic performances in films across all genres. Known for his powerful screen presence, dialogue delivery, and mass appeal, he remains a towering figure in Telugu cinema and a cultural ambassador of Indian storytelling.

Continuing the legacy of his father Legendary NT Rama Rao, Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna is also known for his yeoman service to Cancer Treatment and Research as Chairman of Basava Tarakam Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad. He is also into Public Service over a decade as a Three-Time MLA of Hindupur.

సమాచార ప్రసార మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ ఆధ్వర్యంలోని నేషనల్ ఫిల్మ్ డెవలప్మెంట్ కార్పొరేషన్ (NFDC), గోవా ప్రభుత్వంతో కలిసి ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ సొసైటీ ఆఫ్ గోవా (ESG) సంయుక్తంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్న 56వ భారత అంతర్జాతీయ చలనచిత్రోత్సవం (IFFI) ఈ ఏడాది నవంబర్ 20న జరగనున్న ఆరంభ వేడుకలో తెలుగు సినిమా ఐకాన్, పద్మభూషణ్ శ్రీ నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ గారిని ఘనంగా సత్కరించనుంది.

భారతీయ సినీ రంగంలో అర్ధ శతాబ్ద కాలం పాటు తన అపూర్వమైన నటనతో, దాదాపు 100కిపైగా చిత్రాలలో వైవిధ్యమైన పాత్రలతో ప్రేక్షకులను అలరించిన బాలయ్యగారి 50 ఏళ్ల సినీ ప్రస్థానాన్ని IFFI 2025 ప్రత్యేకంగా జరుపుకోనుంది. దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న సినీ ప్రముఖులు, కళాకారులు, ప్రతినిధులు, సినీభిమానుల సమక్షంలో ఆయనకు ఈ గౌరవాన్ని అందించనున్నారు.

ఆరంభ వేడుకలో ప్రముఖ నిర్మాణ సంస్థలు, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు, సాంస్కృతిక బృందాలు పాల్గొనే అద్భుతమైన సాంస్కృతిక ప్రదర్శనలు ఇందులో భాగమవుతాయి. ఇవి భారతీయ కథా సంప్రదాయం, సంస్కృతి, సినీప్రతిభను ప్రతిబింబిస్తాయి.

పద్మభూషణ్, మూడు నంది అవార్డులు విజేత బాలకృష్ణ గారు తన అద్భుతమైన నటన, పవర్ ఫుల్ డైలాగ్ డెలివరీ, గొప్ప అభిమానంతో తెలుగు సినిమా ప్రపంచంలో అగ్రస్థానాన్ని సొంతం చేసుకున్నారు. భారతీయ కథనానికి, తెలుగు సంస్కృతికి ఆయన ఒక గొప్ప ప్రతినిధి.

తన తండ్రి లెజెండరీ ఎన్.టి. రామారావు గారి వారసత్వాన్ని కొనసాగిస్తూ నటసింహ నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ హైదరాబాద్‌లోని బసవతారకం క్యాన్సర్ హాస్పిటల్ ఛైర్మన్‌గా క్యాన్సర్ చికిత్స, పరిశోధనలకు విశేష సేవలు అందిస్తున్నారు. హిందూపూర్ నుండి మూడుసార్లు ఎమ్మెల్యేగా ఆయన దశాబ్ద కాలంగా ప్రజా సేవలో ఉన్నారు.
