Vanajeevi Ramaiah Biopic Selected for Telangana Gaddar Film Awards – Movieto be Released in Multiple Languages
The life story of PadmaShri awardee and renowned environmentalist, popularly known as “Koti Mokkala Ramaiah,” Vanajeevi Daripalli Ramaiah, has been brought to the silver screen. The biopic titled ‘Vanajeevi Ramaiah’, based on his inspiring journey and environmental service, has been selected in the Best Short Film category at the prestigious Telangana Gaddar Awards presented by the Telangana government.
The film is directed by Nandi Award-winning filmmaker Vemuganti and produced by Nidigonḍa Naresh Kumar Prajapati, Bhusham Ravindranath, and Lingampalli Chandrasekhar. Music for the film is composed by Ballepalli Mohan.
A special preview of the film was recently held at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Telangana Cultural Sarathi Chairperson Vennela, TJS Chief Prof. Kodandaram, political analysts V. Prakash, Tanneeru Babu Rao, Naga Mahesh, and film personalities Tanikella Bharani and Tammareddy Bharadwaja, among others, who appreciated the film and its message.
The makers have announced plans to release the biopic in multiple Indian languages. Director Vemuganti stated, “We made this film with the intention that the life of Ramaiah, who planted millions of trees and served nature, should inspire future generations. We are planning to release it in various Indian languages soon.” Music director Ballepalli Mohan added that the film is dedicated as a tribute to the nature-loving Ramaiah.
Daripalli Ramaiah, hailing from Reddipalli village, earned a unique identity for his tireless efforts in environmental conservation. He widely promoted the slogan “Vruksho Rakshati Rakshitah” (If you protect trees, they will protect you) and introduced the meaningful practice of gifting plants during auspicious occasions. Collecting seeds and dispersing them in forest areas was part of his daily routine.
Although this great environmentalist passed away in April this year, his path continues to inspire generations. Through this biopic, his service and message are expected to reach a wider audience.

పలు భాషల్లోకి వనజీవి రామయ్య బయోపిక్
పద్మశ్రీ అవార్డు గ్రహీత, ‘కోటి మొక్కల రామయ్య’గా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన వనజీవి దరిపల్లి రామయ్య జీవిత కథ వెండితెరపైకి వచ్చింది. సమాజానికి పర్యావరణ సందేశాన్ని అందించిన ఈ మహనీయుడి జీవితం ఆధారంగా రూపొందిన ‘వనజీవి రామయ్య’ బయోపిక్ తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతిష్టాత్మకంగా అందించే గద్దర్ అవార్డుల్లో బెస్ట్ షార్ట్ ఫిలిమ్స్ విభాగంలో ఎంపికైంది. నంది అవార్డు గ్రహీత వేముగంటి దర్శకత్వంలో నిదిగొండ నరేష్ కుమార్ ప్రజాపతి, భూషం రవీంద్రనాథ్, లింగంపల్లి చంద్రశేఖర్ నిర్మించిన ఈ సినిమాకు బల్లేపల్లి మోహన్ సంగీతాన్ని అందించారు.
తాజాగా చిత్రయూనిట్ హైదరాబాద్లోని ప్రసాద్ ల్యాబ్లో ప్రత్యేక ప్రివ్యూ ప్రదర్శన నిర్వహించింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర సాంస్కృతిక సారథి చైర్పర్సన్ వెన్నెల, టీజేఎస్ చీఫ్ ప్రొఫెసర్ కోదండరాం, రాజకీయ విశ్లేషకులు వి. ప్రకాష్, తన్నేరు బాబు రావు, నాగ మహేష్, సినీ ప్రముఖులు తనికెళ్ల భరణి, తమ్మారెడ్డి భరద్వాజ తదితరులు హాజరై చిత్రాన్ని అభినందించారు.
ఈ చిత్రాన్ని భారతీయ భాషల్లో కూడా విడుదల చేయాలని నిర్ణయించినట్లు చిత్ర బృందం వెల్లడించింది. దర్శకుడు వేముగంటి మాట్లాడుతూ, “కోటి మొక్కలు నాటి ప్రకృతికి సేవ చేసిన రామయ్య గారి జీవితం భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు ప్రేరణగా నిలవాలనే ఉద్దేశంతో ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాం. త్వరలోనే భారతీయ భాషల్లో కూడా ఈ బయోపిక్ను తీసుకురానున్నాం” అని తెలిపారు. సంగీత దర్శకుడు బల్లేపల్లి మోహన్ కూడా ఇదే భావనను వ్యక్తం చేస్తూ, ఈ చిత్రాన్ని ప్రకృతి ప్రేమికుడు రామయ్యకు నివాళిగా అంకితం చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు.
రెడ్డిపల్లి గ్రామానికి చెందిన దరిపల్లి రామయ్య పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణలో తనకంటూ ప్రత్యేక గుర్తింపు పొందారు. “వృక్షో రక్షతి రక్షితః” అనే నినాదాన్ని ప్రజల్లో విస్తృతంగా ప్రచారం చేస్తూ ఊరూరూ తిరిగిన ఆయన, శుభకార్యాల్లో మొక్కలను బహుమతులుగా ఇవ్వడం ద్వారా సరికొత్త ఆచారాన్ని నెలకొల్పారు. చెట్ల గింజలను సేకరించి అటవీ ప్రాంతాల్లో చల్లడం ఆయన నిత్యకృత్యంగా ఉండేది.
ప్రకృతిని ప్రేమించిన ఆ మహానుభావుడు ఈ ఏడాది ఏప్రిల్లో ప్రకృతి ఒడిలో కలిసిపోయినప్పటికీ, ఆయన చూపించిన మార్గం తరతరాలకు మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలుస్తోంది. ఈ బయోపిక్ ద్వారా ఆయన సేవలు, స్ఫూర్తి మరింత విస్తృతంగా ప్రజలకు చేరవ కానున్నాయి.
