SIMBAA title reflects the film’s essence – Rajender Reddy
Rajender Reddy, the producer of Simbaa stated, “I make films that benefit society. SIMBAA, starring Anasuya and Jagapathi Babu, is produced by Sampath Nandi and Dasari Rajendara Reddy under the banners of Sampath Nandi Team Works and Raj Dasari Productions. Sampath Nandi wrote the story, and Murali Manohar directed the film, which is set to release on August 9. Ahead of the film’s release, the producer Rajender Reddy interacted with media about the film.
- “This film isn’t just concept-oriented. it incorporates various elements. I have a deep appreciation for nature, and Sampath Nandi shared this story with me during the pandemic. I wanted to create a film that serves societal benefits, and SIMBAA resonated with me. While I’ve heard many stories before, this one stood out.”
- “Simbaa, which means ‘lion,’ symbolizes the protector of the Adivasi community. This powerful title reflects the film’s essence. Murali Manohar, who has previously collaborated with Sampath Nandi and trained at a film school in London, was entrusted with this project due to our mutual faith in his abilities.”
- “Initially conceived before the pandemic, shooting was halted due to COVID-19, but we gradually resumed production. My longstanding relationship with Jagapathi Babu, who is deeply connected to this story and worked with great dedication, has been integral to this project.”
- “Given the current environmental challenges, raising awareness about nature and environmental protection is crucial. We have conveyed this message through the film while incorporating commercial elements.”
- “Although Sampath Nandi is known for commercial concepts, this film is a sci-fi thriller, a genre not previously explored in Indian cinema. The trailer might not reveal much about the characters, but the censors have appreciated it and predicted awards for the film.”
- “I entered the industry with a focus on social impact, having worked in media 25 years ago. My aim is to produce films that offer something valuable to society. I felt satisfied with Simbaa and only proceed with projects when I am entirely content.”
- “We are releasing Simbaa in 200 theatres on August 9, coinciding with International Adivasi Day. I am passionate about nature, plantation, and forest conservation. I participated in the Green Challenge program, and our work received support from the government.”
- “I’ve heard few stories, after Simbaa’s release, I will announce new projects.”
