At the Directors Day event organized by the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA), actor Mohan Babu announced a financial donation of ₹15 lakh to the association

It is known that TFDA celebrates May 4, the birth anniversary of Dasari Narayana Rao, as Directors Day every year. This year’s event was grandly organized on Monday under the banner of Kalayika Foundation. Many prominent personalities from the Indian film industry attended, and several noted directors from different languages were honored.

Speeches from the Event

Collection King Mohan Babu said, “I will always feel the void of Dasari garu, who was like a father to me. He brought a common man forward and shaped him into Mohan Babu. I am happy that this award is being given to Hindi film director R. Balki garu. Dasari garu is the only person who truly defined what a ‘director’ means. It is heartening to see all Telugu film directors coming together for such an event. Everyone on this stage is a great director. Hats off to VN Aditya garu’s team for organizing this event so magnificently. The way awards were selected and presented is wonderful. At my university, I present gold medals in my sister’s name. We have also built an auditorium in Dasari garu’s name. I will donate ₹15 lakh to TFDA. As long as the film industry exists, Dasari garu’s name will live on forever.”

Actress Jaya Prada said, “It is a happy moment to celebrate our guru Dasari garu’s birthday like this and to be invited to such a program. He taught us the basics of acting. He will always remain in our hearts. Jayasudha and I have worked in many films with him. We acted as sisters in several films. R. Narayana Murthy garu has always made films on people’s issues. K. Viswanath garu is like a guru and father to me. I will always be indebted to Dasari garu for giving me such great roles and bringing me to this level. Working with him was a matter of great pride and fortune.”

Actress Jayasudha said “I stand here today only because of my guru Dasari garu. His absence is something we feel even now and will always feel. He left an unforgettable mark on my film journey. This award is greater than any other award. Many great directors are emerging in the industry. I hope everyone participates in future editions of this Creators’ Feast.”

Dorector R. Balki said, “I am happy to be part of this celebration of Dasari garu’s birthday. When Aditya garu invited me, I immediately decided to come. Today, Tollywood has become the center of Indian cinema. The love audiences here show towards films is unmatched. There are many directors here whom I admire, especially Singeetam garu. Hats off to the Telugu film industry for organizing such inspiring events.”

Director S. V. Krishna Reddy said, “I feel delighted seeing so many great directors on this stage. It is a pleasure to be part of such a prestigious gathering.”

Vallabhaneni Anil said, “It is wonderful to celebrate Directors Day on Dasari garu’s birthday. N. Shankar garu, Veera Shankar garu, Aditya garu, all have organized this event brilliantly. We should carry forward Dasari garu’s vision.”

Director Veera Shankar said, “No film industry in the world celebrates such a day. The idea of celebrating Directors Day on Dasari garu’s birthday was proposed by K. Viswanath garu. Once N. Shankar garu was elected, this event began. Congratulations to the entire team for organizing it so grandly.”

N. Shankar said, “There will never be another person like Dasari garu in cinema. Celebrating his birthday like this is a matter of pride. I hope this tradition continues forever.”

Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao said, “Directors inspire society. They shape artists into icons. Such is their power. I hope Telugu directors rise to even greater heights and win global recognition.”

P. G. Vinda said, “A director works day and night for cinema. It is wonderful to honor them by celebrating Directors Day on May 4. I hope this becomes the number one event in India.”

Karthik Raja said, “Thanks to V. N. Aditya garu for inviting us to these Directors Day celebrations.”

Uday Kumar said, “I have directed two films in Telugu, and standing on this stage today is a matter of pride. It is wonderful to see directors from across India being honored like this. Dasari garu served as president of the South Indian Film Directors Association and gave opportunities to many. Directors create heroes and even chief ministers.”

Ram Jagadish said, “There are so many great directors on this stage; I don’t even feel worthy to speak among them. TFDA is doing incredible work. I feel fortunate to be part of the Telugu film industry as a director.”

Mythri Ravi said, “Thanks to everyone organizing this grand Directors Day event. After ‘Baby,’ Sai Rajesh garu is dedicating more time to such initiatives. Aditya garu is coordinating everything wonderfully. I wish this association continued success.”
Babu Mohan said, “I have worked with many great directors, but Dasari garu stands apart. He cared for me like his own child. His passing is a great loss. My congratulations to everyone organizing Directors Day in his honor.”

R. Narayana Murthy said, “We celebrate Sarvepalli’s birthday as Teachers’ Day. Similarly, celebrating Dasari garu’s birthday as Directors Day is wonderful. My respects to everyone organizing this event. My guru Dasari garu fed me and made me a hero. The industry thrives when actors and directors continue making more films.”

Tammareddy Bharadwaj said, “Dasari garu left us all feeling orphaned. Based on K. Viswanath garu’s suggestion, we celebrate May 4 as Directors Day. Directing over 150 films, writing dialogues for more than 250 films, and penning hundreds of songs is no ordinary achievement. He produced over 50 films, acted in many roles, and even started the ‘Udayam’ newspaper. His intellect was extraordinary. Despite all this, he was deeply involved in social service and addressing workers’ issues. Such a great personality deserves such celebrations. Thanks to everyone who made this event grand.”

దర్శకరత్న దాసరి నారాయణరావు పుట్టిన రోజు (మే 4)ని డైరెక్టర్స్ డేగా తెలుగు ఫిల్మ్ డైరెక్టర్స్ అసోసియేషన్ (TFDA) నిర్వహిస్తున్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే.  కలయిక ఫౌండేషన్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ఈ కార్యక్రమం సోమవారం నాడు ఘనంగా జరిగింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి భారత చలన చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలకు చెందిన ప్రముఖులెంతో మంది హాజరయ్యారు. ఈ ఈవెంట్‌లో పలు భాషలకు చెందిన ప్రముఖ దర్శకులెందరినో సత్కరించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో..

*మోహన్ బాబు మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘తండ్రిలాంటి దాసరి గారు లేరనే లోటు నాకు ఈ జీవితాంతం ఉంటుంది. ఓ సాధారణ వ్యక్తిని తీసుకు వచ్చి మోహన్ బాబుగా మార్చారు. హిందీ చిత్ర దర్శకుడు బాల్కి గారికి ఈ అవార్డుని ఇవ్వడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. దర్శకుడు అనే పదానికి అర్థం చెప్పిన ఏకైక వ్యక్తి దాసరి గారు. తెలుగు చలన చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలోని దర్శకులంతా కలిసి ఇలాంటి ఈవెంట్ నిర్వహిస్తుండటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఈ స్టేజ్ మీదున్న వారంతా గొప్ప దర్శకులే. ఇంత ఘనంగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించిన ఆదిత్య గారి బృందంకు హ్యాట్సాఫ్. ఈ కార్యక్రమాలు అవార్డుల్ని ఎంచుకున్న, ఇచ్చిన తీరు అద్భుతంగా ఉంది. మా యూనివర్సిటీలో అక్కయ్య గారి పేరు మీద గోల్డ్ మెడల్స్ ఇస్తుంటాను. దాసరి గారి పేరు మీద ఆడిటోరియంను కట్టాం. తెలుగు ఫిల్మ్ డైరెక్టర్స్ అసోసియేషన్ (TFDA)కి పదిహేను లక్షలు ఆర్థిక విరాళాన్ని అందిస్తాను. చిత్ర సీమ ఉన్నంత వరకు దాసరి గారి పేరు చిరస్థాయిగా నిలబడుతుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*జయప్రద మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘గురువు గారు దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని ఇలా సెలెబ్రేట్ చేయడం, ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమానికి మమ్మల్ని పిలవడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. దాసరి గారు మాకు నటనలో అక్షరాభ్యాసం చేయించారు. ఆయన ఎప్పుడూ మన గుండెల్లోనే ఉంటారు. జయసుధ, నేను దాసరి గారితో ఎన్నో చిత్రాల్ని చేశాం. మేం ఇద్దరం అక్కాచెల్లెళ్లుగా ఎన్నో చిత్రాల్లో నటించాం. ఆర్. నారాయణమూర్తి ఎప్పుడూ ప్రజా సమస్యలపై గొప్ప చిత్రాల్ని రూపొందించారు. నాకు గురువు, తండ్రి లాంటి వారు కె. విశ్వనాథ్ గారు. ఎన్నో గొప్ప పాత్రల్ని ఇచ్చి నన్ను ఈ స్థాయిలో నిలబెట్టిన గురువు దాసరి గారికి ఎప్పుడూ రుణపడి ఉంటాను. ఆయనతో పని చేయడం ఎంతో అదృష్టంగా, గర్వకారణంగా భావిస్తున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*జయసుధ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘గురువు దాసరి గారి వల్లే నేను ఈ రోజు ఇలా నిలబడగలిగాను. ఆయన లేని లోటు ఇప్పటికీ, ఎప్పటికీ గుర్తుకు వస్తూనే ఉంటుంది. నా సినీ ప్రయాణంలో ఆయనది చెరగని ముద్ర. అన్ని అవార్డులకంటే ఈ అవార్డు చాలా గొప్పది. ఎంతో మంది గొప్ప దర్శకులు చిత్ర సీమలోకి వస్తున్నారు. మున్ముందు నిర్వహించే ఈ క్రియేటర్స్ ఫీస్ట్‌లో అందరూ పాల్గొనాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*బాల్కి మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని ఇలా సెలెబ్రేట్ చేస్తుండటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఆదిత్య గారు పిలిచిన వెంటనే ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి రావాలని అనుకున్నాను. ఇప్పుడు ఇండియాకి సెంటర్‌గా టాలీవుడ్ ఉంది. ఇక్కడి ఆడియెన్స్ సినిమాల మీద చూపించే ప్రేమ మరెక్కడా కనిపించదు. ఇక్కడ నాకెంతో మంది ఇష్టమైన దర్శకులున్నారు. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా సింగీతం గారంటే చాలా అభిమానం. ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తూ ఎంతో మందికి ఆదర్శనంగా నిలుస్తున్న తెలుగు చిత్ర పరిశ్రమకు హ్యాట్సాఫ్’ అని అన్నారు.

*ఎస్వీ కృష్ణా రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘ఇక్కడ ఈ స్టేజ్ మీదున్న గొప్ప దర్శకుల్ని చూసి నేను ఎంతో మురిసిపోతోన్నాను. ఎంతో మంది మహానుభావుల మధ్య ఈ ఈవెంట్‌ను నిర్వహిస్తుండటం సంతోషంగా ఉంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*వల్లభనేని అనిల్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజున ఈ డైరెక్టర్స్ డే నిర్వహిస్తుండటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఎన్ శంకర్ గారు, వీర శంకర్ గారు, ఆదిత్య గారు ఇలా అందరూ ఈ ఈవెంట్‌ను అద్భుతంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. దాసరి గారి ఆశయాల్ని మనం ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*వీర శంకర్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘ప్రపంచంలో ఏ చిత్ర పరిశ్రమ కూడా ఇలాంటి ఓ రోజుని నిర్వహించుకోదు. దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజున డైరెక్టర్స్ డే చేయాలని ప్రపోజల్ ఇచ్చిన మహనీయులు కళాతపస్వీ కె. విశ్వనాథ్ గారు. ఎన్. శంకర్ గారు ఎన్నికైన వెంటనే ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించారు. ఇంత గొప్పగా ఈ ఈవెంట్‌ను నిర్వహిస్తున్న టీంకు ప్రత్యేక అభినందనలు’ అని అన్నారు.

*ఎన్ శంకర్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘సినీ ప్రపంచంలో దాసరి గారి లాంటి వారు మళ్లీ పుట్టరు. ఆయన పుట్టిన రోజుని ఇలా సెలెబ్రేట్ చేసుకోవడం మా అందరికీ గర్వకారణంగా ఉంది. ఈ కార్యక్రమం ఎప్పటికీ ఇలానే కొనసాగాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*చదలవాడ శ్రీనివాసరావు మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘‘దర్శకులు సమాజాన్ని ఉత్తేజపరుస్తారు. ఓ ఆర్టిస్టుని దేవుడిగా తయారు చేస్తారు. అలాంటి శక్తి ఉన్న వారే దర్శకులు. మన తెలుగు దర్శకులు ఇంకా ఎంతో ఎత్తుకు ఎదగాలని ఆశిస్తున్నాను. ప్రపంచ స్థాయిలో అవార్డులన్నీ తెలుగు వాళ్లు సంపాదించే రోజు ముందుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*పీజీ విందా మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘ఓ దర్శకుడు రాత్రీపగలూ అన్న తేడా లేకుండా సినిమా కోసం పని చేస్తుంటారు. అలాంటి దర్శకులకు మే 4న డైరెక్టర్స్ డే అని పెట్టి గౌరవించుకోవడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఇది ఇండియాలో నెంబర్ వన్ ఈవెంట్‌గా మారాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*కార్తిక్ రాజా మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘డైరెక్టర్స్ డే సెలెబ్రేషన్స్‌కి మమ్మల్ని ఆహ్వానించిన విఎన్ ఆదిత్య గారికి థాంక్స్’ అని అన్నారు.

*ఉదయ్ కుమార్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘తెలుగులో నేను రెండు సినిమాలకు దర్శకత్వం వహించాను. నేను ఈ రోజు ఇలా ఈ స్టేజ్ మీద నిల్చుండటం గర్వంగా ఉంది. భారత సినీ పరిశ్రమలోని దర్శకుల్ని ఇలా గౌరవిస్తుండటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. దక్షిణ భారత సినీ దర్శకుల సంఘంకి దాసరి గారు అధ్యక్షుడిగా ఉన్నారు. ఆయన ఎంతో మందికి అవకాశాల్ని ఇచ్చారు.’ అని అన్నారు. దర్శకులు ఎంతో మంది హీరోల్ని, సీఎంల్ని కూడా తయారు చేస్తారు’ అని అన్నారు.

*రామ్ జగదీష్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘ఎంతో మంది గొప్ప దర్శకులు ఈ స్టేజ్ మీదున్నారు. మాట్లాడేందుకు నా అర్హత కూడా సరిపోదు. ఇలాంటి గొప్ప కార్యక్రమం చేస్తున్న టీఎఫ్‌డీఏ‌ గురించి ఎంత చెప్పినా తక్కువే. తెలుగు చిత్ర సీమ నుంచి నేను కూడా ఓ దర్శకుడిగా రావడం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*మైత్రి రవి మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘డైరెక్టర్స్ డే సందర్భంగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఇంత గొప్పగా నిర్వహిస్తున్న ప్రతీ ఒక్కరికీ థాంక్స్. బేబీ తరువాత సాయి రాజేష్ గారు ఇలాంటి సంస్థ కోసం ఎక్కువ టైం కేటాయిస్తుండటం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఆదిత్య గారు అందరినీ కో ఆర్డినేట్ చేస్తూ ఈవెంట్‌ను గొప్పగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. మీ ఈ అసోసియేషన్ ఎప్పుడూ ఇలానే ముందుకు వెళ్తూ ఉండాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.

*బాబు మోహన్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘ఎంతో మంది మహామహులైన దర్శకులతో పని చేశాను. కానీ అందరిలోనూ దాసరి గారు ఎంతో గొప్ప వ్యక్తి. దాసరి గారు నన్నెంతో ప్రేమించేవారు. నన్ను బిడ్డలా చూసుకునేవారు. ఆయన పరమపదించడం దురదృష్టకరం. దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని ఇలా డైరెక్టర్స్ డే అని నిర్వహిస్తున్న ప్రతీ ఒక్కరికీ నా అభినందనలు’ అని అన్నారు.

*ఆర్ నారాయణ మూర్తి మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘సర్వేపల్లి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని ఉపాధ్యాయ దినోత్సవంగా చేసుకుంటున్నాం. అలానే దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని డైరెక్టర్స్ డేని సెలెబ్రేట్ చేసుకుంటున్నందుకు ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఇంత గొప్పగా నిర్వహిస్తున్న ప్రతీ ఒక్కరికీ నా నమస్కారాలు. మా గురువు దాసరి గారు నాకు అన్నం పెట్టి హీరోని చేశారు. ఇప్పుడు హీరోలు, దర్శకులు ఎక్కువ సినిమాలు చేస్తూ ఉంటేనే ఇండస్ట్రీ పచ్చగా ఉంటుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*తమ్మారెడ్డి భరద్వాజ్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘దాసరి గారు మన అందరినీ అనాథల్ని చేసి వెళ్లిపోయారు. కె. విశ్వనాథ్ గారి సలహాతో మే 4న దాసరి గారి పుట్టిన రోజుని డైరెక్టర్స్ డే గా నిర్వహిస్తున్నాం. ఓ డైరెక్టర్ 150కి పైగా చిత్రాలకు దర్శకత్వం, 250కి పైగా చిత్రాలకు మాటలు రాయడం, ఐదారు వందల పాటలు రాయడం మామూలు విషయం కాదు. 50 చిత్రాలపైకు పైగా నిర్మించారు, ఎన్నో గొప్ప పాత్రల్ని పోషించారు, ‘ఉదయం’ పేపర్‌ను కూడా ప్రారంభించారు. ఆయన మేధస్సు చాలా గొప్పది. ఇన్ని  పనుల మధ్య సేవా కార్యక్రమాలు, కార్మికుల సమస్యల్ని తీర్చేవారు. ఆయన అంతటి గొప్పవారు కాబట్టే ఆయన బర్త్ డేకి ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. ఈ ఈవెంట్‌ని ఘనంగా నిర్వహించిన ప్రతీ ఒక్కరికీ ధన్యవాదాలు’ అని అన్నారు.
