Kotha Cinema – Why in Hyderabad, Why Not in Our Place Event Held in the Presence of Several Directors and Producers
Proving that cinema does not belong only to cities but also lives in every village, debut director Azhar has created the locally made film “Kotha Cinema” with local talent. Remarkably, the film introduces around 100 new talents to the Telugu film industry.
Starring Suresh and Rakesh in the lead roles, the film has Azhar handling the story, screenplay, direction, dialogues, and editing. Mohammed Wasim Akram, Sagi Sudheer Rao, and Yadandla Satish Yadav are producing the film. “Kotha Cinema” is gearing up for a grand theatrical release soon.
On Monday evening, the film’s ‘Why in Hyderabad, Why Not in Our Place’ event was held grandly in Hyderabad, with several prominent directors and producers attending as guests.
DOP Johnny Basha said, “The reason we have come all the way from Godavarikhani to Hyderabad is because of your support. Azhar identified the talent in each person and gave them an opportunity. He also trained those who were new to the field. He has made a good film that audiences will enjoy. He is going to prove that sincerity towards one’s work will definitely lead to success. I request everyone to support our Kotha Cinema.”
Music director Peddapalli Rohith said, “Thank you to all the distinguished guests who came to this event to support our Kotha Cinema. I got the opportunity to create good music for this film, and I thank Azhar for giving me that opportunity. The music of this movie will definitely appeal to everyone.”
Actor Rakesh said, “I took leave from work and came here for our film. I request my manager and other officers to continue supporting me until the release of this film. We are all newcomers who came together to make a new film. If we want to establish ourselves in this industry, we need everyone’s support.”
Actor Suresh said, “I never even dreamed that a day would come when I could say that I played the main role in a film. Azhar gave me that opportunity. People should not think that making a film is easy. Only those who actually make a film know how difficult it is. Azhar faced many challenges and completed this movie. If people like you, who have already achieved so much, stand by us, newcomers like us can also gain recognition.”
Critic Challa Srinivas said, “When I saw the poster of this film, I called Madura Sreedhar and asked him who this young man named Azhar was because the poster looked very impressive. Organic cinema has now become a genre that everyone likes. I believe Azhar has made a natural and authentic film of that kind.”
Director Azhar said, “We initially thought that nobody would support newcomers. But I sincerely thank everyone who has supported our film so much. I am grateful to all the guests who came to our event when we invited them. Cinema is one of the most powerful mediums in the world. With this film, I have taken my first step towards creating an impactful film.
“I always wanted to have the satisfaction of completing something every day. Instead of approaching other producers with my story, I decided to produce the film myself. When I said that I was new and wanted to give opportunities to other newcomers as well, nobody believed us. But we conducted auditions in our own village and selected talented people.
“They say, ‘Try building a house, and try getting married.’ Similarly, the journey of making this film came with numerous challenges, but we overcame them and reached this stage. We will soon come before you with a theatrical release. I request everyone to continue giving us the same support.”
Director and producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja said, “Azhar has not only titled the film Kotha Cinema, meaning ‘New Cinema,’ but has also made a genuinely new attempt. This may well be the first film made entirely with male artistes. Making a film involves a lot of expenditure, and getting artistes is not easy either. That is why Azhar went back to his hometown, identified talented people there, trained them, and made the film locally. I believe he must have made a wonderful film. I wish this movie brings him great recognition.”
Director and producer N. Shankar said, “Everyone has a talent within them. Azhar has proved his talent by making this film. He and his technicians come from the Singareni coal-mining region, where people work hundreds of metres underground. I believe they have made a natural and good film. It is commendable that Azhar has given opportunities to so many newcomers through this project. I hope Kotha Cinema truly lives up to its title and impresses audiences with something new.”
Director Ramesh said, “There have been instances where regional cinema brought recognition to the region where it was made. Films shot in Malegaon, for example, brought a good name to the place. I hope this film, which is set against the backdrop of Singareni, brings recognition to the region as well. I wish Azhar’s hard work as a director bears fruit.”
Director Veerashankar said, “It is wrong to sit around complaining that nobody gave us an opportunity or blaming others for pushing us down. People who think that way should take inspiration from Azhar. Without blaming anyone, he worked within his limitations and made a sincere attempt to create a film. Back then, Sai Rajesh made a similar attempt with Hrudaya Kaleyam. I feel Azhar has taken a similar path with Kotha Cinema. I hope this film brings him great recognition. Director V.N. Aditya said, “Confidence is like oxygen for a director. A director should have the confidence to believe that the hero is just one part of his story. డైరెక్టర్ వీరశంకర్ మాట్లాడుతూ – మనకు ఎవరో అవకాశం ఇవ్వలేదని బాధపడుతూ, ఎవరో మనల్ని తొక్కేశారని నిందించడం తప్పు. అలాంటి వాళ్లు అజర్ ను స్ఫూర్తిగా తీసుకోవాలి. ఎవర్నీ నిందించకుండా తనకున్న పరిమితుల్లో ఒక మంచి ప్రయత్నం చేసి సినిమా రూపొందించాడు. అప్పట్లో హృదయకాలేయంతో సాయి రాజేశ్ ఎలా ప్రయత్నించాడు. ఇప్పుడు అజర్ కూడా కొత్త సినిమా అలాగే చేశాడని అనిపిస్తోంది. ఈ సినిమా అతనికి మంచి పేరు తీసుకు వస్తుందని ఆశిస్తున్నా. మేమంతా అజర్ కు సపోర్ట్ గా నిలబడతాం. అన్నారు.
