The theatrical revenue earned by a successful film is higher in Malayalam than in Telugu – Bunny Vas
Malayalam star hero Tovino Thomas is starring in the big-budget film “Pallichattambi.” The movie is being produced by Noufal, Brijeesh, and Chanukya, Chaitanya, Charan under the banners of World Wide Films and C Cube Bros Entertainments. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film features Kayadu Lohar as the heroine. The movie has created huge pan-India expectations and is set for a grand theatrical release on April 10 in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. A grand release press meet was held yesterday in Hyderabad. Producer and distributor Bunny Vas graced the event.
He said, “Director Maruthi introduced me to this team, saying that some people we know are producing a film in Malayalam. After speaking with them, I understood that they were making a prestigious movie. They took me to Kochi and showed me the film. It was surprising to see Telugu people going to Kerala and making such a huge film. The movie is technically very rich and grand. It will feel like a new kind of commercial film for Telugu audiences. Usually, we think of Malayalam films as concept-oriented, but ‘Pallichattambi’ is a big, proper commercial entertainer. This film will become a big success in Telugu.”,
Giving suggestion to young producers, he said “But I would like to give you one suggestion, don’t immediately jump into making a Telugu film. If you want to make a film in Telugu, you have to be very careful. The kind of comfort you have while producing in Malayalam does not exist in Telugu. I am saying this as a senior producer. Because the revenue that comes from a successful Telugu film is actually less compared to the revenue from a successful Malayalam film. The theatrical revenues we are getting in Telugu are not as high as those in Malayalam. Producers there are quite happy with their theatrical returns.”
He added, “I’m very happy that Megha Shyam, who came to us about ten years ago and has been traveling with us since then, is now working as an associate producer for this film. We released Tovino’s ‘2018’ in Telugu, and it was a good success. His performance and fights in this film are very impressive, I felt like I was watching Mohanlal garu.”

ప్రొడ్యూసర్, డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటర్ బన్నీ వాస్ మాట్లాడుతూ – మనకు తెలిసిన వాళ్లు మలయాళంలో మూవీ ప్రొడ్యూస్ చేస్తున్నారంటూ డైరెక్టర్ మారుతి ఈ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ టీమ్ ను పరిచయం చేశారు. వాళ్లతో మాట్లాడిన తర్వాత ఒక ప్రెస్టీజియస్ మూవీ చేస్తున్నారని తెలిసింది. కొచ్చి తీసుకెళ్లి ఈ సినిమా చూపించారు. మన తెలుగు వాళ్లు కేరళ వెళ్లి ఇలాంటి ఒక భారీ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించడం ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని కలిగించింది. సినిమా టెక్నికల్ చాలా క్వాలిటీగా హ్యూజ్ గా ఉంటుంది. తెలుగు ఆడియెన్స్ కు ఒక కొత్త కమర్షియల్ మూవీ అవుతుంది. మలయాళం మూవీస్ అంటే మనం కాన్సెప్ట్ ఓరియెంటెడ్ మూవీస్ గాన భావిస్తాం కానీ పళ్లిచట్టంబి ఒక భారీ మంచి కమర్షియల్ మూవీ. తెలుగులో ఈ సినిమా పెద్ద విజయం సాధిస్తుంది. అయితే వెంటనే తెలుగు సినిమా చేయకండి. తెలుగులో సినిమా నిర్మించాలంటే చాలా కేర్ ఫుల్ గా ఉండాలి. మలయాళంలో చిత్ర నిర్మాణంలో ఉన్న కంఫర్ట్ తెలుగులో లేదు. సీనియర్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్ గా మీకు ఈ సలహా ఇస్తున్నా. ఎందుకంటే తెలుగులో ఓ సినిమా సక్సెస్ అయితే వచ్చే ఆదాయం కన్నా, మలయాళంలో ఒక మూవీ సక్సెస్ అయితే వచ్చే ఆదాయం ఎక్కువ. మలయాళంలో వచ్చినన్ని థియేట్రికల్ రెవెన్యూస్ మన తెలుగులో రావడం లేదు. మా దగ్గరకు పదేళ్ల క్రితం వచ్చి మాతో ట్రావెల్ అయిన మేఘశ్యామ్ ఈ సినిమాకు అసోసియేట్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్ గా వర్క్ చేయడం హ్యాపీగా ఉంది. టొవినో గారు చేసిన 2018 చిత్రాన్ని తెలుగులో రిలీజ్ చేశాం. మంచి సక్సెస్ అయ్యింది. ఈ చిత్రంలో ఆయన పర్ ఫార్మెన్స్, ఫైట్స్ ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. నాకు మోహన్ లాల్ గారిని చూసినట్లు అనిపించింది. కయదు లోహర్ కు రెండు తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో చాలామంది అభిమానులు ఉన్నారు. డ్రాగన్, ఫంకీ సినిమాలతో మీరు తెలుగు ఆడియెన్స్ కు మరింత దగ్గరయ్యారు. పళ్లిచట్టంబి సినిమాతో తెలుగులో మీరు నెక్ట్స్ రైజింగ్ స్టార్ అవుతారు. తెలుగులో మరింత మంచి పొజిషన్ కు చేరుకుంటారు. ఈ సినిమా చూసిన తర్వాత కయదుతో మరోసారి మీరంతా లవ్ లో పడతారు. ఈ సినిమా తర్వాత కయదుకు మరింతమంది ఫ్యాన్స్ పెరుగుతారు. డైరెక్టర్ ఈ మూవీని తీసిన విధానం, ఎడిటింగ్ చేయించిన విధానం బాగా నచ్చింది. ఒక న్యూ కమర్షియల్ మూవీ చూడాలంటే పళ్లిచట్టంబి థియేటర్స్ లో చూడండి. ఏప్రిల్ 8న అల్లు అర్జున్ పుట్టినరోజు సందర్భంగా ఆయన అట్లీ దర్శకత్వంలో నటిస్తున్న సినిమా నుంచి టైటిల్, పోస్టర్ రిలీజ్ చేయబోతున్నారు. ఈ రోజు సినిమాకు భాషా హద్దులు లేవు. తెలుగు సినిమా పాన్ వరల్డ్ సినిమా అయ్యింది. ఇక్కడికి వీలైనన్ని ఇతర భాషల చిత్రాలు తీసుకురావాలి. అప్పుడే డిస్ట్రిబ్యూషన్, థియేటర్స్ వ్యవస్థ బాగుంటుంది అని నాకు సాధ్యమైనన్ని మూవీస్ తెలుగులో రిలీజ్ చేస్తున్నా. ఈ సినిమాకు మాత్రం స్క్రీన్ ప్లే నాకు బాగా నచ్చింది. అన్నారు.
