Audiences who watch Doordarshini will feel like they’ve gone back to their hometowns – Hero Suvikshit

A feel-good love entertainer based on a real-life incident, Doordarshini, stars Suvikshit and Geethika Ratan in the lead roles. The film carries the tagline “Kalipindi Iddarini.” Directed by Karthikeya Kommi, the movie is produced by Jaya Shankar Reddy M and Patimeedi Santosh under the Varaha Movie Makers banner. Having completed all formalities, the film is set for release on May 15. On this occasion, hero Suvikshit shared several details about the film. Here are the highlights.

What is your background?
I am from Rayachoti in Kadapa district and I run a business. Since childhood, I’ve been passionate about cinema and inspired by films. Unexpectedly, I am now making my debut as a hero through this movie.

How did you get the opportunity to play the hero in this film?
Writer Narayana garu developed this story based on the life story of a beggar he met in Arunachalam. Initially, we planned to make this film with another hero. But since the story required a fresh face, and because of my interest, we felt I would suit the role well, so I ended up playing the protagonist. The teaser, songs, and trailer released recently have received a very positive response. We are confident the audience will support the film.

How did you prepare yourself for this role?
I too had experienced the kind of emotions portrayed in this story. Since the film is set in the 1990s, the lead character had to reflect the emotions people experienced during that era. I was one among those who lived through those moments, so I felt I could portray it naturally. I didn’t particularly “act” in this film — I simply behaved the way people did during that time.

Are you planning a grand release?
Initially, we thought of releasing the film in a limited number of theatres. But now, the film is gearing up for release in more than 250 theatres.

People say the hero and heroine die in the film. Why reveal that point?
The story is about how we still delivered a happy ending even after the hero and heroine die. It also explores how the old man reached Arunachalam and what happened in his life. That elderly character appears as the hero’s father in the film. Audiences will feel like they’ve revisited their own villages from the 1990s.

Why did you choose to act in the hero’s role yourself?
Almost everyone in this film is new. We wanted natural performances, so we cast fresh faces. If well-known artists had acted in it, audiences would see their popularity rather than the characters. That’s why we chose newcomers to preserve the film’s natural feel.

How was the working experience on this film?
Like every film, we too faced several challenges. But all the artists and technicians supported us immensely. Bringing the movie to the release stage itself feels like a big achievement for us. We strongly believe audiences will definitely support a good film. We took our time to ensure the best quality output without compromising.

We shot the film in natural locations around Yanam and Kakinada, recreating the atmosphere of the 1990s through detailed sets. We never compromised on quality.

Why did you choose a 1990s backdrop?
As we get used to city life, we are slowly forgetting our roots and native villages. Through this film, we wanted to take audiences back to those memories. Anyone who watches this movie will be reminded of their hometown.

You’re saying audiences will be given a handkerchief along with the movie ticket?
This film is extremely emotional. No one will be able to watch the emotional scenes without tears.

Will you continue as a hero?
Definitely. I would love to continue doing films with good stories   

దూరదర్శని చూసిన ప్రేక్షకులకు వాళ్ల సొంతూరికి వెళ్లిన ఫీల్‌ కలుగుతుంది – హీరో సువిక్షిత్‌

సువిక్షిత్‌, గీతికా రతన్‌ జంటగా ఓ యదార్థ సంఘటన ఆధారంగా రూపొందుతోన్న ఫీల్‌గుడ్‌ లవ్‌ ఎంటర్‌టైనర్‌ ‘దూరదర్శని’. కలిపింది ఇద్దరిని ఉపశీర్షిక. కార్తికేయ కొమ్మి దర్శకత్వంలో వారాహ మూవీ మేకర్స్‌ పతాకంపై జయ శంకర్‌ రెడ్డి.ఎం, పాటిమీది సంతోష్‌ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. అన్ని పనులను పూర్తిచేసుకున్న ఈ చిత్రం మే 15న విడుదల కాబోతుంది. ఈ సందర్బంగా ఈ చిత్రం హీరో సువిక్షిత్‌  చిత్ర విశేషాలను పంచుకున్నారు. ఆ విశేషాలివి.

నేపథ్యం ఏమిటి?
కడప జిల్లా రాయచోటి. నాకు వ్యాపారం ఉంది. చిన్నప్పటి నుండి సినిమాలంటే పాషన్‌.. సినిమాలను చూసి ఇన్‌స్పయిర్‌ అయ్యే వాడిని. అనుకోకుండా ఈ సినిమా ద్వారా హీరోగా ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు రాబోతున్నాను.

ఈ సినిమాలోకి హీరోగా ఎలా అవకాశం వచ్చింది?
రచయిత నారాయణ గారు, అరుణాచలంలో కలిసిన ఓ యాచకుడి జీవిత గాథ ఆధారంగా  ఈకథను అనుకుని రాసుకున్నారు. అయితే మొదట ఈ సినిమాను వేరే హీరోతో చేద్దామని ప్లాన్‌ చేశాం. అయితే కథకు కొత్త హీరో అవసరం కాబట్టి నాకున్న ఇంట్రెస్ట్‌తో. ఆ పాత్రకు నేను సెట్‌ అవుతానని భావించి  కథానాయకుడిగా నేనే నటించాను. ఇటీవల విడుదలైన టీజర్‌, పాటలు, ట్రైలర్‌కు మంచి స్పందన వస్తోంది. తప్పకుండా చిత్రానికి ప్రేక్షకుల ఆదరణ ఉంటుందని అనుకుంటున్నాను.

మిమ్ములను మీరు ఈ కథ కోసం ఎలా మౌల్ట్‌ చేసుకున్నారు?
ఈ కథను నేను కూడా విన్నాను. 90 బ్యాక్‌ డ్రాప్‌లో నడిచే ఈ కథలో లీడ్‌ పాత్రకు అప్పట్లో ఎలాంటి అనుభూతి పొందామో తెలుసుకుని నటించాలి. ఆ అనుభూతి పొందిన వారిలో నేను కూడా ఉన్నాను. అందుకే నేనే చేస్తే సహజంగా ఉంటుందని భావించాను. నేను ఈసినిమాలో ప్రత్యేకంగా నటించలేదు. జస్ట్‌ ఆ టైమ్‌లో  ఎలా ఉండాలో అలా బిహేవ్‌ చేశాను.

రిలీజ్‌ను గ్రాండ్‌గా ప్లాన్‌ చేస్తున్నారా?
మేము ఎదో తక్కువ థియేటర్స్‌లో రిలీజ్‌ చేద్దాం అనుకున్నాను. ఇప్పడు దాదాపుగా 250పైగా థియేటర్స్‌లో విడుదల చేస్తున్నాం.

సినిమాలో హీరో , హీరోయిన్‌ చనిపోతారు అంటున్నారు? ఆ పాయింట్‌ను ఎందుకు రివీల్‌ చేశారు?
హీరో, హీరోయిన్ చనిపోయిన తరువాత హ్యపీ ఎండింగ్‌ ఎలా ఇచ్చాం. అసలు అరుణాచలంలోకి ఆ పెద్దాయన ఎలా వచ్చాడు? ఆయన జీవితంలో జరిగింది ఏమిటి అనేది కథ. సినిమాలో హీరో ఫాదర్‌గా ఆ పెద్దాయన పాత్ర కనిపిస్తుంది. 90లో  ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ వాళ్ల ఊరిలో తిరిగొచ్చిన ఫీల్‌ కలుగుతుంది.

ఈ సినిమాలో హీరో పాత్రలో మీరే నటించడానికి కారణం ఏమిటి?
ఈ సినిమాలో దాదాపు అందరూ కొత్తవాళ్లే. సహజత్వం కోసం కొత్తవాళ్లతో నటించాం. పేరున్న ఆర్టిస్టులు నటిస్తే పాత్రలు కనిపించవు. అతని పాపులారిటీ కనిపిస్తుంది. అందుకే నేచురాలిటి ఫీల్‌ కోసం కొత్తవాళ్లతో చేశాం.

ఈ సినిమా వర్కింగ్‌ ఎక్స్‌ పీరియన్స్‌ ఏలా ఉంది?
ప్రతి సినిమాకు ఉండే కష్టాలు మాకు ఉన్నాయి. అయితే ఆర్టిస్టులు, టెక్నిషియన్స్‌ అందరూ సపోర్ట్‌ చేశారు. కానీ ఈ రోజు సినిమాను విడుదల వరకు తీసుకరావడం మేము సాధించిన విజయంగా భావిస్తున్నాం. ఇక మంచి సినిమాను తప్పకుండా ప్రేక్షకులు ఆదరిస్తారనే నమ్మకం ఉంది. ఈ సినిమాను క్వాలిటీ కోసం బెస్ట్‌ అవుట్‌పుట్‌ ఇవ్వటానికి టైమ్‌ తీసుకున్నాం.

యానాం, కాకినాడ పరిసర ప్రాంతాల్లో చాలా నేచురల్‌గా లోకేషన్స్‌లో 90వ దశకం గుర్తొచ్చేలా సెట్‌లు వేసి ఈ సినిమా తీశాం. క్వాలిటీ విషయంలో ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్‌ కాదు.

90వ దశకం బ్యాక్‌డ్రాప్‌ను ఎంచుకోవడానికి రీజన్‌ ఏమిటి?
సిటీకి అలవాటు పడి అందరం మన మూలాలను, పల్లెట్లూర్లను మర్చిపోతున్నాం. అందుకే అందర్ని వెనక్కి తీసుకెళ్లి జ్ఞాపకాలు గుర్తుకు తెస్తున్నాం. ఈ సినిమా చూసిన వారికి వాళ్ల సొంతూరు గుర్తుకొస్తుంది.

సినిమా టిక్కెట్‌తో పాటు కర్చీఫ్‌ ఇస్తామని అంటున్నారు?
ఈ సినిమా చాలా ఎమోషనల్‌గా ఉంటుంది. ఈ సినిమాలో ఎమోషన్‌ చూసి ఎడ్వకుండా ఎవ్వరూ ఉండలేరు.

హీరోగా కంటిన్యూ చేస్తారా?
తప్పకుండా మంచి కథలతో సినిమాలు చేయాలని ఉంది.
