I Consider It a Blessing to Act in the Song Shivoham – Tanikella Bharani
On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the launch event of the devotional song “Shivoham”, dedicated to Lord Shiva, was held grandly on Monday at the Hyderabad Film Chamber.
The song is presented by Radhakeshav and produced by Pottapu Keshava Reddy. It is directed by Damu Reddy, with music composed by Yashokrishna. The song was rendered by renowned Malayalam singer Madhu Balakrishnan. Shivoham will be available on Keertana TV in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
The event was graced by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Madabhinavoddanda Vidyashankara Bharati Mahaswamiji, Peethadhipathi of Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Pushpagiri Mahasansthanam, along with prominent actor Tanikella Bharani, renowned lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, and actor Gautam Raju.
Music Director Yashokrishna said:
“I am very happy that Shivoham is being released on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. I feel fortunate to have composed the music for this song. I thank our director and producer for giving me this opportunity.”
Director Damu Reddy said:
“We are presenting the song Shivoham to all of you. It has been produced in Hindi as well as all major South Indian languages. Producer Keshava Reddy garu and actor Tanikella Bharani garu have extended great support. Our song will help devotees celebrate Maha Shivaratri with greater spiritual devotion.”
Producer Pottapu Keshava Reddy said:
“It is a great honor to launch our song Shivoham in the presence of His Holiness Sri Vidyashankara Bharati Mahaswamiji. We are delighted that Tanikella Bharani garu and Suddala Ashok Teja garu attended as chief guests. We have produced Shivoham not only with devotion but also with a meaningful message for devotees.”
Actor Tanikella Bharani said:
“Twenty-five years ago, I wrote a book titled Atagadhara Shiva. Since then, I have been invited as a guest to programs related to Lord Shiva across the two Telugu states. I consider it a blessing to get the opportunity to act in the song Shivoham. I performed in it with complete devotion to Lord Shiva. The song was shot at the Isha Foundation premises. I personally spoke to Isha Shailaja and obtained permission for the shoot. Director Damu Reddy has beautifully crafted the song. Yashokrishna composed it wonderfully. Suddala Ashok Teja wrote an extraordinary song using simple words. Madhu Balakrishnan sang it in a way that brings national recognition. I hope Shivoham delights all devotees.”
Lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja said:
“Tanikella Bharani was the one who gave me my first opportunity as a lyricist. Without his encouragement, I would not have entered the industry. It is a pleasure to launch Shivoham in his presence and in the presence of Sri Shankarabharati Swamiji. I never imagined this song would be unveiled before so many distinguished personalities.
Lord Brahma appears in one way, Lord Vishnu in another, but Lord Shiva’s appearance feels unique to me. In Shiva’s capital, Kailasa, everyone is equal. It is a place of true equality. There may be a snake and a mouse there, but they coexist peacefully. Such a harmonious society does not exist in the kingdom of any other deity. Shiva appears as Ardhanarishvara to teach us how husband and wife should live together. Through this form, Shiva conveys a profound message. After I wrote the song, Yashokrishna composed the music. I hope everyone listens to and enjoys this devotional song.”
His Holiness Sri Vidyashankara Bharati Mahaswamiji said:
“Tanikella Bharani garu called me and expressed his wish that this song launch should take place in my presence. Mondays at our Peetham are filled with various rituals and worship ceremonies. Since this song is also dedicated to Lord Shiva, I considered both equally sacred. The philosophy of Advaita — that all are equal — prevails in Kailasa. All the divine attendants worship Lord Shiva. Releasing the song Shivoham on Maha Shivaratri is a blessing for all of us.”

ప్రముఖ నటులు తనికెళ్ల భరణి మాట్లాడుతూ – నేను పాతికేళ్ల క్రితం ఆటగదరా శివ అనే పుస్తకం రాశాను. అప్పటి నుంచి రెండు తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఎక్కడ మహాశివుడి గురించి కార్యక్రమం జరిగినా నన్ను అతిథిగా పిలుస్తున్నారు. శివోహం పాటలో నటించే అవకాశం రావడం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నా. శివ భక్తితో లీనమై ఈ పాటలో నటించాను. ఈ పాటను ఈషా ఫౌండేషన్ ప్రాంగణంలో చిత్రీకరించే అవకాశం కలిగింది. ఈషా శైలజతో మాట్లాడి నేనే పర్మిషన్ ఇప్పించాను. ఈ పాటను వీలైనంత అద్భుతంగా తెరకెక్కించారు దర్శకుడు దామురెడ్డి. యశోకృష్ణ బాగా కంపోజ్ చేశారు. సామాన్య పదాలతో అద్భుతమైన పాట రాశారు సుద్దాల అశోక్ తేజ. జాతీయ స్థాయిలో పేరు తెచ్చుకునేలా పాడారు మధు బాలకృష్ణన్. శివోహం పాట భక్తులందరినీ అలరించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నా. అన్నారు.
ప్రముఖ గీత రచయిత సుద్దాల అశోక్ తేజ మాట్లాడుతూ – నాతో తొలి పాట రాయించిన వారు తనికెళ్ల భరణి. ఆయన ప్రోత్సాహం లేకుంటే నేను ఇండస్ట్రీకి రాకపోయేవాడిని. ఆయన సమక్షంలో, శంకరభారతి స్వామివారి సమక్షంలో శివోహం పాట ఆవిష్కరించుకోవడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఈపాటను ఇంత మంది పెద్దల సమక్షంలో ఆవిష్కరించుకుంటాం అని నేను ఊహించలేదు. బ్రహ్మ కనిపించే తీరు వేరు, శ్రీవిష్ణువు కనిపించే తీరువేరు అయితే శివుడు కనిపించే తీరు నాకు ప్రత్యేకంగా అనిపిస్తుంటుంది. శివ రాజధాని కైలాసంలో అందరూ సమానమే. సమసమాజం ఉన్న చోటు అది. అక్కడ పాము ఉంటుంది, ఎలుకా ఉంటుంది. అయితే అవి గొడవలు పడవు. కలిసే ఉంటాయి. ఇలాంటి సమసమాజం మరే దేవుడి రాజధానిలోనూ ఉండవు. అర్థనారీశ్వరుడిలా మనకు శివుడు ఎందుకు దర్శనమిస్తాడంటే భార్య భర్త ఎలా కలిసి ఉండాలో చెప్పేందుకు. ఇలాంటి గొప్ప సందేశం శివుడు మనకు అందిస్తాడు. ఈ పాట నేను రాసిన తర్వాత యశోకృష్ణ స్వరపర్చాడు. ఇలాంటి ఒక మంచి భక్తి గీతాన్ని మీరంతా విని ఆనందించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నా. అన్నారు.
శ్రీ జగద్గురు శంకరాచార్య పుష్పగిరి మహాసంస్థాన పీఠాదీశ్వరులు శ్రీశ్రీశ్రీ మదభినవోద్దండ విద్యాశంకర భారతీ మహాస్వామివారు మాట్లాడుతూ – శివోహం పాట మీ చేతుల మీదుగా జరగాలని తనికెళ్ల భరణి గారు నాకు ఫోన్ చేశారు. సోమవారం మా పీఠంలో అనేక అర్చన కార్యక్రమాలు ఉంటాయి. ఈ పాట కూడా శివుడి కోసమే రూపకల్పన చేసింది కాబట్టి నా దృష్టిలో రెండూ సమానమే అనుకున్నాం. అందరూ సమానమే అనే అద్వైత భావన కైలాసంలో ఉంటుంది. ప్రమదగణాలన్నీ శివుడిని పూజిస్తుంటాయి. శివోహం పేరుతో మహాశివరాత్రికి ఈ పాటను విడుదల చేయడం మనందరి అదృష్టం. అన్నారు.
