Dr. Damodar Nerella’s Dream Project Takes Off

DRR Productions’ maiden film, tentatively titled Production No. 1, was launched with traditional pooja ceremonies on the auspicious occasion of Dasara. The film is being produced by Dr. Damodar Nerella as his dream project and marks the directorial debut of Shashank Duvvuru. Ravi Shivateja, Bhaskar Paramatmuni and Subrahmanyam Ala play the lead roles, while Neha Pathan will be seen as the female lead.

The film promises a refreshing storyline that blends friendship, romance and family relationships with intriguing science-fiction elements. The team aims to deliver a distinctive cinematic experience with engaging entertainment and unexpected twists.

A Dream Project Close to the Producer’s Heart
Dr. Damodar Nerella, founder and CEO of the Indian American Medical Association (IAMA), has been making significant contributions to the medical field. He has been practising medicine in the UK and the United States for the past 26 years. Alongside his professional commitments, he has also been actively involved in social service, organising free medical camps in remote villages.

Speaking about his journey into cinema, producer Dr. Damodar Nerella said that he had been passionate about films since childhood. Recalling his love for cinema, he shared an interesting memory of travelling to Warangal instead of attending school to watch Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film Khaidi.
He said he was delighted to finally take steps towards fulfilling his long-cherished dream of producing a film and that the launch of his dream project on Dasara made the occasion even more special.
Dr. Damodar Nerella added that he was deeply impressed by the story narrated by director Shashank Duvvuru. He said the film combines love, friendship and family values while also conveying a meaningful message. Although this is Shashank’s first film as a director, the producer expressed complete confidence in his talent and the strength of the story.

Entertainment Backed by a Strong Concept
Director Shashank Duvvuru revealed that he had previously worked as an assistant director on The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna. He has also directed a short film titled Ulta.
Expressing his happiness about making his directorial debut, Shashank said that although the film may initially appear to be a light-hearted entertainer, it carries a strong underlying concept. The story revolves around three young men and explores different themes through an engaging mix of humour, emotions and entertainment.
He expressed confidence that the film’s distinctive narrative would offer audiences something different from conventional commercial cinema.

From Romance to Science Fiction
The lead actors said the film was being developed around a well-crafted script and would offer a refreshing departure from routine storylines.
They revealed that the narrative begins with romantic elements before gradually taking an intriguing turn towards science fiction. The unusual progression of the story, along with its unexpected twists and fresh treatment, is expected to be one of the film’s major attractions.
The team is working towards creating a unique cinematic experience for audiences. The official title poster and further details about the project will be announced soon.

Theatrical Release Planned for Next Year
The shooting of DRR Productions’ maiden venture is expected to commence shortly, with the makers planning a theatrical release next year.
With a debut director, a young cast and a storyline combining romance, friendship, family bonds and science fiction, the film is expected to generate curiosity among moviegoers. The production team is optimistic about bringing a fresh and engaging film to the big screen.
