Telugu Cinema Should Go Pan-World, Not Just Pan-India: Producer Bunny Vas at Ekam Conclave

Producer Bunny Vas said that he wants Telugu cinema to go beyond the Pan-India space and reach audiences across the world. He expressed his desire for Telugu films to establish a strong Pan-World presence while speaking as a guest at the Ekam Business Conclave held in Hyderabad. Nearly 300 entrepreneurs from various sectors participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Producer Bunny Vas said, “Just as happiness and hardships are a natural part of life, profits and losses are also part of the film business. When we face a loss today, we move forward with the confidence that we can earn tomorrow. Unlike many other businesses, which can become monotonous after a few years, working in cinema never feels boring. Every day brings a new challenge, and we approach it with the same enthusiasm.

“After achieving success as a distributor with Arya, I gained the confidence that we could succeed in this industry. I understood how to conduct the film business in a reasonable and sustainable manner, and that understanding has helped me continue in the industry for so many years. In the film industry, fortunes can change every Friday. Along with money, even one’s reputation is at stake because cinema is a public platform. If a film is good, audiences appreciate it; if it doesn’t work, they criticise it.

“A director imagines a film from the screen towards the audience, whereas a producer needs to imagine the film from the audience towards the screen. This quality is essential to become a successful producer. A film should have creative content while also incorporating strong commercial elements. Only then can it connect with and entertain audiences.

“Telugu cinema should not stop at becoming Pan-India; it should go Pan-World. That is what we, as producers, aspire to achieve.”
