Romanchakam Is a Fresh Love Story – Sumanth Prabhas
Presented by blockbuster director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced under the Bhadrakali Pictures banner, “Romanchakam” stars Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar in the lead roles. The film is produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga and directed by debutant Venu Gopal Reddy. Blending love, humour and suspense, the film is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on the 3rd of this month as an interesting, youthful entertainer. Ahead of the release, hero Sumanth Prabhas spoke about the film during an interview held today.
It felt really special and happy to meet Prabhas garu for our movie. Meeting him brought back memories of my past and my entire journey. We went to meet him with certain expectations, but Prabhas garu received us very warmly. I could see the love for a true fanboy in him. No one in my family has a film background, and they don’t know much about the industry. So, they didn’t really support me much. They only told me to be good to everyone and to think positively.
I acted in a film called Mem Famous, which was set against a Telangana backdrop, and it was well received by audiences here. Later, I did Godarigattupaina, which had an Andhra backdrop, and that film was appreciated by audiences in Andhra Pradesh. These two films gave me an opportunity to showcase my versatility as an actor. Romanchakam is set against the backdrop of Hyderabad.
In this film, I play a young man who completes his engineering and tries to start a startup company. The character is cute and innocent. In real life, my father wanted me to become an SI. I got the opportunity to act in Mem Famous while I was pursuing my degree.
Romanchakam is a film that people from the age of six to sixty can enjoy equally. You can watch it with your family or friends. Although I had already done two films as a hero, director Venu Gopal garu conducted workshops for six months to help me transform myself according to what the character demanded. I had an idea of how to portray the character, but the workshops helped me sharpen my performance. When I look at my performance from the beginning to the end after completing all the workshops, I can see a huge difference. There were even occasions when we practised a single scene for two or three months.
I met Sandeep anna at an awards function, and he told me, “There is a cute story. Listen to it.” Since he was telling me the story, I felt it would definitely be good. When Venu anna narrated the script, I enjoyed all two and a half hours of it. Sandeep anna and Pranay anna may appear a certain way from the outside, but they are actually very sweet people. Those who have travelled with them would know that.
I was very happy that Vijay Deverakonda anna attended our pre-release event. It was also very encouraging to hear him speak so positively about me. I have always been greatly inspired by Vijay anna. After watching the first copy of Romanchakam, Sandeep anna complimented me, saying that I had performed very well. Initially, I wondered whether the title Romanchakam, which is quite unique, would connect with the audience. But now it is almost becoming a catchphrase. I believe that after the film’s release, many people will start using this word in their everyday conversations.
Ananthika is a very talented actress. She knows several art forms and can learn anything in a very short time. Working with her on this film was a great experience. I believe this film will also bring her good recognition. The movie gives the audience a Romanchakam feeling from beginning to end. You will notice a lot of freshness in the film. Every scene will make you laugh. I had a lot of fun while watching the movie. Vasuki Vaibhav has delivered fantastic music for our film. Radharaman is my favourite song. Prabhas garu also released another love song from the movie.
I want to act in all kinds of films as a hero. Right now, I am getting love-story scripts. Once I establish myself as a hero, let’s see if I start receiving action and commercial film offers. Next, I will be doing a film with director Saailu Kampati, the director of Raju Weds Rambai, under the Asian banner. The film will begin this month itself.

– మా మూవీ కోసం ప్రభాస్ గారిని కలవడం చాలా హ్యాపీగా అనిపించింది. నా గతం, నా జర్నీ అంతా ఒక్కసారిగా గుర్తుకువచ్చింది. ఆయనను కలిసే ముందు ఒక ఎక్స్ పెక్టేషన్ తో వెళ్లాం. ప్రభాస్ గారు చాలా బాగా రిసీవ్ చేసుకున్నారు. మన ఫ్యాన్ బాయ్ అనే ప్రేమ ఆయనలో కనిపించింది. మా కుటుంబంలో ఎవరికీ సినిమా నేపథ్యం లేదు. సినిమాల గురించి తెలియదు. దాంతో వాళ్లు నన్ను పెద్దగా సపోర్ట్ చేయలేదు. అందరితో బాగుండు, పాజిటివ్ గా ఆలోచించు అని మాత్రం చెప్పారు.
– తెలంగాణ నేపథ్యంతో మేమ్ ఫేమస్ అనే సినిమా చేశాను. ఇక్కడి ఆడియెన్స్ బాగా చూశారు. ఆంధ్ర నేపథ్యంతో గోదారిగట్టుపైన సినిమా చేశాను. ఆ సినిమాను ఏపీ వాళ్లు ఆదరించారు. ఈ రెండు చిత్రాలతో నటుడిగా వెర్సటాలిటీ చూపించే అవకాశం దక్కింది. రోమాంచకం సినిమా హైదరాబాద్ నేపథ్యంగా సాగుతుంది.
– ఇంజినీరింగ్ కంప్లీట్ చేసి ఒక స్టార్టప్ కంపెనీ పెట్టాలని ప్రయత్నించే యువకుడిగా ఈ చిత్రంలో కనిపిస్తాడు. ఆ క్యారెక్టర్ క్యూట్ గా, ఇన్నోసెంట్ గా ఉంటుంది. రియల్ లైఫ్ లో నేను ఎస్ ఐ కావాలని మా నాన్నకు ఉండేది. డిగ్రీ చదువుతున్నప్పుడే మేమ్ ఫేమస్ మూవీలో అవకాశం వచ్చింది.
– రోమాంచకం సినిమా ఆరేళ్ల నుంచి అరవై ఏళ్ల వరకు ఎవరైనా చూసి ఒకేలా ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తారు. ఫ్యామిలీస్ తో ఫ్రెండ్స్ తో ఎవరితో అయినా ఈ మూవీని చూడొచ్చు. నేను హీరోగా రెండు సినిమాలు చేసినా డైరెక్టర్ వేణుగోపాల్ గారు ఆయనకు ఈ క్యారెక్టర్ కు ఎలా ఉండాలో అలా మార్చుకునేందుకు ఆర్నెళ్లు వర్క్ షాప్స్ కండక్ట్ చేశారు. ఈ క్యారెక్టర్ లో ఎలా నటించాలి అనేది నాకు ఐడియా ఉంది. కానీ వర్క్ షాప్స్ తో షార్ప్ అయ్యాను. వర్క్ షాప్స్ అంతా కంప్లీట్ అయ్యాక మొదటి నుంచి చివరి దాకా నా పర్ ఫార్మ్ చూసుకుంటే ఎంతో మార్పు కనిపించింది. కొన్నిసార్లు ఒకే సీన్ రెండు మూడు నెలలు ప్రాక్టీస్ చేసిన సందర్భాలున్నాయి.
– సందీప్ అన్న ఒక అవార్డ్ ఫంక్షన్ లో కలిసి ఒక క్యూట్ స్టోరీ ఉంది నువ్వు విను అన్నారు. ఆయన చెప్పాడంటే తప్పకుండా బాగుంటుందని కథ విన్నాను. వేణు అన్న చెప్పిన నెరేషన్ రెండున్నర గంటలు ఎంజాయ్ చేశాను.సందీప్ అన్న, ప్రణయ్ అన్న బయటకు అలా కనిపిస్తారు కానీ వాళ్లు చాలా స్వీట్ పర్సన్స్. వాళ్లతో ట్రావెల్ అయిన వాళ్లకు తెలుస్తుంది.
– విజయ్ దేవరకొండ అన్న మా మూవీ ప్రీ రిలీజ్ కు రావడం చాలా హ్యాపీగా అనిపించింది. ఆయన నా గురించి బాగా మాట్లాడటం కూడా సంతోషాన్నిచ్చింది. విజయ్ అన్నను చూసి నేను చాలా ఇన్స్ పైర్ అవుతుంటాను. రోమాంచకం సినిమా ఫస్ట్ కాపీ చూసి సందీప్ అన్న బాగా పర్ ఫార్మ్ చేశావంటూ కాంప్లిమెంట్ ఇచ్చారు. రోమాంచకం టైటిల్ కొత్తగా ఉంది ఆడియెన్స్ కు కనెక్ట్ అవుతుందా అనిపించింది. కానీ ఇప్పుడు అదొక ఊతపదంలా మారిపోతోంది. సినిమా రిలీజ్ అయ్యాక చాలా మందికి ఈ పదం వాడుకలోకి వస్తుందని నమ్ముతున్నా.
– అనంతిక టాలెంటెడ్ యాక్ట్రెస్. ఆమెకు చాలా ఆర్ట్ ఫామ్స్ తెలుసు. ఏ విద్యనైనా తక్కువ టైమ్ లో నేర్చుకుంటుంది. ఆమెతో ఈ మూవీలో వర్క్ చేయడం మంచి ఎక్సిపీరియన్స్ ఇచ్చింది. తనకు కూడా ఈ సినిమా మంచి గుర్తింపు తీసుకొస్తుంది. మా సినిమా ఆద్యంతం రోమాంచకం ఫీల్ ను ప్రేక్షకులకు కలిగిస్తుంటుంది. సినిమాలో ఫ్రెష్ నెస్ చూస్తారు. ప్రతి సీన్ మీకు నవ్వు తెప్పిస్తుంది. నాకు సినిమా చూసినంత సేపు మజా వచ్చింది. మా మూవీలో వాసుకి వైభవ్ మ్యూజిక్ ఇరగదీశాడు. రాధారమణ నా ఫేవరేట్ సాంగ్. ఇంకో లవ్ సాంగ్ ప్రభాస్ గారు రిలీజ్ చేశారు.
– హీరోగా అన్నిరకాల చిత్రాల్లో నటించాలని ఉంది. ఇప్పుడు లవ్ స్టోరీస్ వస్తున్నాయి. హీరోగా పేరొచ్చాక యాక్షన్, కమర్షియల్ ఆఫర్స్ వస్తాయేమో చూడాలి. నెక్ట్స్ ఏషియన్ బ్యానర్ లో రాజు వెడ్స్ రాంబాయి డైరెక్టర్ సాయిలు కంపాటితో ఒక మూవీ చేయబోతున్నా. ఈ నెలలోనే ఆ మూవీ స్టార్ట్ కానుంది.
