The Family Blockbuster of the Year, Vijay Antony’s Vandha Devullu Premieres on Telugu ZEE5 on August 7
After emerging as the Family Blockbuster of the Year and winning hearts in theatres with its heartfelt storytelling and emotionally resonant narrative, Vijay Antony’s Vandha Devullu is all set to make its digital premiere on Telugu ZEE5 from August 7. Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sasi, the film marks his reunion with Vijay Antony nearly a decade after the blockbuster Bichagadu, bringing another emotionally driven story that celebrates family, relationships and second chances.
Inspired by true events, Vandha Devullu tells the story of a widowed mother who has devoted her life to raising her family. When she decides to embrace a new phase of life, she finds herself battling deep-rooted social expectations and difficult personal choices. With its emotionally layered narrative, the film explores motherhood, dignity, acceptance and the courage to choose happiness while staying rooted in family values.
Vandha Devullu stands apart for its refreshing portrayal of the mother-son relationship. Instead of celebrating sacrifice alone, the film focuses on understanding, compassion and the emotional strength that binds a family together. The film stars Vijay Antony, Swasika, Ajay Dhishan, Lijomol Jose, Karunas, Kavya Anil, Balaji Sakthivel and Aruldoss in pivotal roles. Produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner, Vandha Devullu features music by Balaji Sriram, cinematography by S.P. Darshan Girlosh and editing by Harish Yuvaraj, with every department contributing to the film’s emotionally immersive storytelling.
