Our film Rakasa can Watch Whole Family together and enjoy a hearty laugh – Niharika Konidela 

Niharika Konidela, in collaboration with Umesh Kumar Bansal, produced the film Rakasa under the Pink Elephant Pictures banner, presented by Zee Studios. Directed by Manasa Sharma, the film stars Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in the lead roles. The movie is set for release on April 3. Ahead of its release, a grand Pre-Release Madness event was held on Tuesday.

*Niharika Konidela said*, “We focused even more on promotions than on the actual shooting of Rakasa. We made a quality film and wanted to ensure it reaches a wide audience, which is why we are promoting it on such a large scale. From the first glimpse itself, the film has created strong buzz. From beginning to end, Rakasa offers clean comedy and wholesome entertainment for the entire family. It’s not just a horror or thriller; it’s a unique blend of comedy, fantasy, and adventure.

We completed the film within our planned budget, though we faced some scheduling challenges due to artists’ availability and industry strikes. When I learned that even my brother Ram Charan who usually isn’t active on social media, had heard about Rakasa, I felt our film had truly reached people. I’ve always wanted to explore different genres, but I strongly believe entertainment is essential in any film. Rakasa delivers that in abundance.”

*Sangeeth Shobhan said* , “Ram Charan garu appreciated Rakasa a lot. When Niharika told me we were going to meet him, I thought it was a prank! Within our resources, we tried to create an adventurous film in the spirit of Indiana Jones, but not on that scale. Our aim is pure entertainment. Manasa first narrated this story to me, and I immediately said yes without listening to other scripts. After finalizing the script, we approached Niharika, and things progressed smoothly from there. I share a great bond with both Niharika and Manasa, and I feel very comfortable working with them. I’m confident Rakasa will entertain everyone.”

*Director Manasa Sharma said*, “The story of Rakasa is fresh and unique.” It will especially appeal to children. We’ve presented elements of our folklore and culture in a way that today’s generation can connect with. Modern technology helped us bring this story to life in a visually engaging way. Rakasa is like a beautiful fairytale that the whole family can enjoy together.”

*Nayan Sarika said*, “Pink Elephant Pictures feels like home to me. My journey began with a web series produced by Niharika garu. This is my second project with Manasa. Rakasa is very special to me. During promotions, I had the opportunity to meet Ram Charan garu—I’m a huge fan of his and couldn’t hold back my tears. Hearing him speak about our film was truly special. I believe this movie will impress everyone.”

*Manyam Ramesh said,* “Today, reaching the audience is more challenging than making a film.” With our strong promotional efforts, we ensured Rakasa reaches people. While the shoot took 55 days, promotions lasted 60 days. All business deals were completed even before release, showing the confidence distributors have in our content. The entire team worked very hard, and I believe Rakasa will be a big success.”

*నిహారిక కొణిదెల మాట్లాడుతూ ..* ‘‘రాకాస’ కోసం షూటింగ్ చేసిన దాని కంటే ప్రమోషన్స్ మీద ఎక్కువగా ఫోకస్ పెట్టాం. మేం మంచి సినిమాని తీశాం. మేం తీసిన మూవీని జనాల వరకు తీసుకెళ్లాలని ఫిక్స్ అయ్యాం. అందుకే ఈ రేంజ్‌లో ప్రమోషన్స్ చేస్తున్నాం. గ్లింప్స్ నుంచే  ‘రాకాస’ మీద భారీ హైప్ ఏర్పడింది. ఫస్ట్ ఫ్రేమ్ నుంచి చివరి ఫ్రేమ్ వరకు క్లీన్ కామెడీతో ఫ్యామిలీ అంతా కలిసి చూసి హాయిగా నవ్వుకునేలా, ఎంటర్టైన్ అయ్యేలా మా ‘రాకాస’ ఉంటుంది. మా కాన్సెప్ట్ చాలా కొత్తగా ఉంటుంది. పూర్తిగా హారర్, థ్రిల్లర్ అని కాకుండా.. కామెడీ, ఫ్యాంటసీ, అడ్వెంచర్ ఇలా అన్ని రకాల అంశాలతో ఉంటుంది. అనుకున్న బడ్జెట్‌లోనే మూవీని తీశాం. కానీ సమ్మెలాంటి కారణాలతో ఆర్టిస్టుల డేట్స్ కొన్ని సమస్యలు వచ్చాయి. సోషల్ మీడియాని వాడని రామ్ చరణ్ అన్న దగ్గరకే మా ‘రాకాస’ రీచ్ అయిందంటే మా మూవీ జనాల వరకు వెళ్లిందని నాకు అర్థమైంది. నాకు ఎప్పుడూ కూడా డిఫరెంట్ జానర్‌లో సినిమాలు తీయాలని ఉంటుంది. కానీ ఏ జానర్‌లో మూవీ తీసినా కూడా అందులో ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ కంపల్సరీ ఉండాలని అనుకుంటాను. ‘రాకాస’లో కావాల్సినంత ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ ఉంటుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*సంగీత్ శోభన్ మాట్లాడుతూ ..* ‘‘రాకాస’ గురించి రామ్ చరణ్ గారు చాలా గొప్పగా మాట్లాడారు. రామ్ చరణ్ గారిని కలుస్తున్నాం అని నిహారిక గారు చెప్పినప్పుడు నమ్మలేదు. నాతో ప్రాంక్ చేస్తున్నారేమో అని అనుకున్నాను. మాకున్న పరిధిలో ఇండియానా జోన్స్ లాంటి అడ్వంచెర్ ఒకటి చేశాం. అలాంటి హాలీవుడ్‌తో పోల్చకండి. మా సినిమా నుంచి పూర్తి వినోదాన్ని అందించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాం. మానస గారు నాకు ముందు ఈ కథను చెప్పారు. ఆ తరువాత కథలు వినడం ఆపేసి ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుకే ఓకే చెప్పేశాను. పూర్తి కథ సెట్ అయ్యాక నిహారిక గారి వద్దకు వెళ్లాం. ఆమె ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులోకి ఎంట్రీ ఇచ్చాక అన్నీ చకచకా జరిగిపోయాయి. నిహారిక గారు, మానస గారితో నాకు చాలా ఏళ్ల్ నుంచి మంచి బంధం ఉంది. వాళ్లతో నాకు చాలా కంఫర్ట్‌గా అనిపిస్తుంది. నా అభిప్రాయాల్ని, సలహాల్ని, సూచనల్ని స్వేచ్చగా వారితో పంచుకుంటాను. ‘రాకాస’ కచ్చితంగా అందరినీ అలరిస్తుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*మానస శర్మ మాట్లాడుతూ ..*‘‘రాకాస’లో కథ చాలా కొత్తగా ఉంటుంది. చిన్న పిల్లలను ఎక్కువగా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. మన జానపదాలు, కల్చర్ అనేవి ఈ తరానికి అర్థమయ్యేలా, నచ్చేలా ఈ మూవీని తీశాం. టెక్నాలజీని వాడుకుని ‘రాకాస’ని అద్భుతంగా తెరకెక్కించాం. కుటుంబమంతా కలిసి ఓ అందమైన చందమామ కథను చూసి ఎంటర్టైన్ అయ్యేలా ‘రాకాస’ ఉంటుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*నయన్ సారిక మాట్లాడుతూ ..* ‘పింక్ ఎలిఫెంట్ పిక్చర్స్ నాకు హోం బ్యానర్‌లాంటిది. నిహారిక గారు తీసిన వెబ్ సిరీస్‌తోనే నా జర్నీ ప్రారంభమైంది. మానసతో నాకు ఇది రెండో ప్రాజెక్ట్. ‘రాకాస’ నా కెరీర్‌లో స్పెషల్‌గా నిలుస్తుంది. ఈ ప్రమోషన్స్‌లో భాగంగా రామ్ చరణ్ గారిని కలవడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఆయనకు నేను వీరాభిమానిని. ఆయన్ను కలిసిన తరువాత నాకు కన్నీళ్లు ఆగలేదు. మా ‘రాకాస’ గురించి ఆయన మాట్లాడటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఈ చిత్రం అందరినీ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*మన్యం రమేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ ..* ‘ఈ మధ్య కాలంలో సినిమా తీయడం కంటే జనాల వరకు రీచ్ చేయడమే కష్టంగా మారింది. ‘రాకాస’ని మా ప్రమోషన్స్‌తో ఆడియెన్స్ వరకు రీచ్ అయ్యేలా చేయగలిగాం. షూటింగ్ 55 రోజులు చేస్తే.. ప్రమోషన్స్ 60 రోజులు చేశాం. విడుదలకు ముందే అన్ని బిజినెస్‌లు పూర్తయ్యాయి. మా కంటెంట్ మీదున్న నమ్మకంతోనే డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటర్లు మా సినిమాని కొన్నారు. టీం అంతా చాలా కష్టపడింది. ఈ చిత్రం పెద్ద హిట్ అవుతుంది’ అని అన్నారు.

*జీ స్టూడియో కంటెంట్ వైస్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ దివ్య మాట్లాడుతూ ..* ‘‘రాకాస’ కథ అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుంది. నిహారిక, రమేష్ గారి వల్ల మాకు కూడా కాన్ఫిడెంట్ పెరిగింది. సంగీత్ శోభన్, నయన్ అద్భుతంగా నటించారు. ‘రాకాస’ థియేటర్లో పెద్ద హిట్ అవుతుంది’ అని అన్నారు.
