The journey of Committee Kurrollu has reached yet another defining milestone. At the prestigious 70th Filmfare Awards South, the film secured two major honours – Best Debut Male for Sandeep Saroj and Best Debut Director for Yadhu Vamsi, marking a powerful moment of recognition for the team and for Telugu Cinéma.
The Filmfare Awards South, one of the most respected platforms celebrating excellence across the southern film industries, place these wins in a league of national credibility and industry validation. For a debut feature to earn recognition in two key debut categories reflects not only the freshness of its talent but also the strength of its storytelling conviction.
For Sandeep Saroj, winning Best Debut Male is a significant breakthrough, affirming his nuanced and emotionally grounded performance that anchored the film’s central conflicts. His portrayal brought vulnerability and authenticity to a character navigating friendship, ego, and moral awakening, a performance that resonated strongly with both audiences and critics.
For Yadhu Vamsi, the Best Debut Director win further cements his arrival as a filmmaker with clarity of voice and thematic courage. His direction balances humour and social commentary with restraint, crafting a narrative that feels intimate yet socially aware. What began as a modest debut has now evolved into one of the most celebrated Telugu directorial launches in recent years.
These Filmfare wins add to the film’s growing list of accolades. Committee Kurrollu previously won Best Feature Film on National Integration, Communal Harmony and Social Uplift of Depressed Classes and Best Debut Director at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024. It also received international recognition at the Gulf Academy Movie Awards 2025 in Dubai, where Yadhu Vamsi won Best Debut Director and Niharika Konidela was honoured as Best Debut Producer. At the SIIMA Awards 2025, the film earned Best Debutant Producer (Telugu) for Niharika Konidela and Best Debutant Actor (Telugu) for Sandeep Saroj.
Produced by Padmaja Konidela and Jayalakshmi Adapaka under the banners Pink Elephant Pictures and Shree Radha Damodar Studios, and presented by Niharika Konidela, the film marked Niharika’s first theatrical presentation. The project reflects a conscious effort to champion rooted, content-driven stories that foreground social realities without sacrificing entertainment.
Shot by Edurolu Raju, who captured the earthy textures of the Godavari landscape with visual authenticity, and scored by Anudeep Dev, whose music underscores the film’s emotional shifts with subtlety, Committee Kurrollu blends sincerity with craft. The film’s production operations were overseen by Manyam Ramesh.
Released on August 9, 2024, Committee Kurrollu emerged as a blockbuster hit. Made on a budget of ₹9 Crores, the film went on to score big at the box office with a theatrical collection of ₹18.5 Crores and non-theatrical revenue of ₹6 Crores, taking its total earnings to ₹24.5 Crores. The commercial success further validated the film’s strong word of mouth and audience acceptance.
With her very first feature film as a producer, Niharika Konidela created a significant milestone in Tollywood, earning applause both as an actress and as a producer backing meaningful content. The success of Committee Kurrollu stands as a testament to her commitment to nurturing fresh voices and socially resonant storytelling.
Set in a small Andhra village, the film explores how a minor disagreement among close friends spirals into a larger conflict that exposes deep-seated issues of caste, class, and collective conscience. Featuring an ensemble of promising newcomers alongside seasoned performers including P. Sai Kumar and Goparaju Ramana, the film stands as a story of friendship, fracture, and reconciliation.

నిహారిక కొణిదెల సమర్పణలో పద్మజ కొణిదెల, జయలక్ష్మి అడపాక నిర్మాణంలో, పింక్ ఎలిఫెంట్ పిక్చర్స్, శ్రీ రాధా దామోదర్ స్టూడియోస్ బ్యానర్లపై ఈ చిత్రం రూపొందింది. సమాజంలోని వాస్తవిక పరిస్థితులను చెబుతూనే ఎంటర్టైనింగ్గా ఈ సినిమాను తెరకెక్కించారు.

2024 ఆగస్టు 9న విడుదలైన కమిటీ కుర్రోళ్ళు సినిమా బ్లాక్బస్టర్ విజయాన్ని అందుకుంది. సుమారు రూ.9 కోట్ల బడ్జెట్తో రూపొందిన ఈ సినిమా, థియేటర్లలో రూ.18.5 కోట్ల వసూళ్లు సాధించింది. అలాగే నాన్ థియేట్రికల్ హక్కులకు రూ.6 కోట్లు వచ్చాయి. మొత్తంగా చూస్తే.. కలెక్షన్లు రూ.24.5 కోట్లకు చేరాయి. సినిమాకు వచ్చిన మౌత్ టాక్తో మూవీ భారీ కమర్షియల్ సక్సెస్ సాధించింది.
తన తొలి చిత్రంతోనే ఫీచర్ ఫిల్మ్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్గా నిహారిక కొణిదెల టాలీవుడ్లో ఒక ముఖ్యమైన మైల్స్టోన్ను క్రియేట్ చేశారు. ఆమె నటిగానే కాకుండా సామాజిక సందేశాలను అందించే కథలను ముందుకు తెచ్చే ప్రొడ్యూసర్గా కూడా ప్రశంసలు అందుకున్నారు. ఈ విజయంతో న్యూ టాలెంట్, డిఫరెంట్ కాన్సెప్ట్ సినిమాను ఎంకరేజ్ చేయాలనే అంశం స్పష్టంగా వ్యక్తమవుతోంది.
