Dynamic Star Vishnu Manchu’s dream project ‘Kannappa’ is all set to release on June 27th. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Dr. M. Mohan Babu under the banners of AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the film has already garnered high expectations through its teaser, trailer, and songs. On Thursday, Vishnu Manchu and the ‘Kannappa’ team interacted with the media.
*Speaking at the event, Vishnu Manchu said* : “Over one lakh tickets have already been sold for ‘Kannappa’. I feel immense joy seeing such a response. It truly feels like Lord Shiva’s divine grace. In the beginning, no one believed there would be this much positivity around ‘Kannappa’. That’s not their fault. But today, the film is surrounded by complete positivity. I want families to watch this film together in comfort, which is why I have not raised ticket prices. Especially for children, this film is made with them in mind. Except for a few places in Andhra Pradesh, we haven’t increased the prices.
By God’s grace, I’ve never faced financial hurdles with ‘Kannappa’. My father, Mohan Babu Garu, along with Vijay and Vinay, have stood by me and taken care of everything. Our team worked extremely hard on this film. I didn’t struggle as much as they did. All four of my children acted in this film. As a father, it’s a delight to see them on screen. I do hope they become artists too, but let’s see where life takes them. No one expected this level of positivity for ‘Kannappa’.
We have planned a 2 AM screening in Karnataka and a wide release in Kerala. The film will not stream on OTT for 10 weeks. There’s no pressure on me regarding its release. I respect everyone and have no intention of disrespecting any community. The film doesn’t demean anyone. The core message is this — there is no need for intermediaries or blind beliefs between a devotee and God. All you need is sincere devotion. It’s with confidence in the script that we invested such a big budget and took this risk. Mohanlal Garu’s role in the film will be a surprising and shocking revelation. With Lord Shiva’s blessings, this Friday will belong to me. ‘Kannappa’ is not a myth — he truly existed, and people still worship him today. I repeat — ‘Kannappa’ is not a myth, it’s history — our history. He lived among us.”
*Director Mukesh Kumar Singh stated:* “I’ve spoken a lot about ‘Kannappa’ so far. I’m grateful to Mohan Babu Garu and Vishnu Garu for giving me this opportunity. We’ve made this film with utmost sincerity, and now we’re waiting to see if our hard work pays off — it’s all in the hands of the audience. This generation doesn’t know much about Kannappa. We wanted to show how a man who once didn’t believe in God or devotion ultimately became a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Every actor has poured their soul into their roles. డైనమిక్ హీరో విష్ణు మంచు డ్రీమ్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ ‘కన్నప్ప’ జూన్ 27న విడుదల కాబోతోంది. అవా ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్, 24 ఫ్రేమ్స్ ఫ్యాక్టరీ బ్యానర్ల మీద డా. ఎం. మోహన్ బాబు నిర్మాణంలో ముఖేష్ కుమార్ సింగ్ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించారు. ఇప్పటి వరకు రిలీజ్ చేసిన టీజర్, ట్రైలర్‌లు ప్రేక్షకుల్లో అంచనాలు పెంచేశాయి. ఈ క్రమంలో గురువారం నాడు విష్ణు మంచు, కన్నప్ప టీం మీడియాతో ముచ్చటించింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో
*విష్ణు మంచు మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘‘కన్నప్ప’కు ఇప్పటి వరకు లక్షకు పైగా టికెట్లు తెగాయి. ఇంతటి రెస్పాన్స్ చూసి నాకు ఆనందమేస్తోంది. ఇదంతా శివ లీల అనిపిస్తుంది. ‘కన్నప్ప’ మీద ఇంత పాజిటివిటీ వస్తుందని ప్రారంభంలో ఎవ్వరూ నమ్మలేదు. అది వారి తప్పు కాదు. ఇప్పుడు ‘కన్నప్ప’ మీద ఫుల్ పాజిటివిటీ వచ్చింది. ‘కన్నప్ప’ చిత్రాన్ని ఫ్యామిలీ అంతా కలిసి హాయిగా చూడాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను. అందుకే నేను టికెట్ రేట్లు పెంచడం లేదు. ఈ మూవీని పిల్లలే ఎక్కువగా చూడాలని అనుకుంటున్నాను. అందుకే కుటుంబాలకు భారం కావొద్దని టికెట్ రేట్లు ఎక్కువగా పెంచడం లేదు. ఏపీలో కొన్ని చోట్ల మాత్రమే పెంచాం. ప్రభాస్‌కి ఇప్పటికే నేను ఎంతో రుణపడి ఉన్నాను. ఆ దేవుడి దయవల్ల నేను కన్నప్ప విషయంలో ఎప్పుడూ ఆర్థిక కష్టాల్ని ఎదుర్కోలేదు. నా తండ్రి మోహన్ బాబు గారు, విజయ్, వినయ్ గారు నా వెన్నంటే ఉండి అంతా చూసుకున్నారు. కన్నప్ప కోసం మా టీం పడినంత కష్టాన్ని నేను అయితే పడలేదు. నా నలుగురు పిల్లలు ఈ చిత్రంలో నటించారు. ఓ తండ్రిగా నా పిల్లల్ని తెరపై చూడటం ఆనందంగా ఉంటుంది. నా పిల్లలు ఆర్టిస్టులు అవ్వాలని నేను కూడా కోరుకుంటున్నాను. కానీ వాళ్లు ఏం అవుతారో చూద్దాం. అసలు ‘కన్నప్ప’ ఈ రేంజ్ పాజిటివిటీతో వస్తుందని ఒకప్పుడు ఎవ్వరూ ఊహించలేదు. కర్ణాటకలో తెల్లవారు ఝామున రెండు గంటలకు ప్లాన్ చేశారు. కేరళలో పెద్ద ఎత్తున సినిమాను విడుదల చేస్తున్నారు. నా చిత్రం పది వారాల వరకు ఓటీటీలో రాదు. నా మీద రిలీజ్ గురించి ఒత్తిడి లేదు. నేను అందరినీ గౌరవిస్తాను. ఏ కమ్యూనిటీని కించపర్చాలని కూడా అనుకోను. ఈ చిత్రంలో ఎవ్వరినీ ఎక్కడా కూడా అగౌరవపర్చలేదు. దేవుడు, భక్తుడికి మధ్యలో ఎవ్వరూ ఉండాల్సిన పని లేదు, మూఢ నమ్మకాలు అవసరం లేదు అని చెప్పడమే ఈ చిత్రం ఉద్దేశం. దేవుడి మీద మనసారా భక్తి ఉంటే చాలు అని చెప్పాలని అనుకున్నాం. ‘కన్నప్ప’ స్క్రిప్ట్ మీదున్న నమ్మకంతోనే ఇంత బడ్జెట్ పెట్టి, రిస్క్ చేసేందుందుకు ముందుకు వచ్చాం. ఈ చిత్రంలో మోహన్‌లాల్ గారి పాత్ర చాలా సర్ ప్రైజింగ్‌గా, షాకింగ్‌గా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఆ శివుడి ఆశీస్సులతో ఈ శుక్రవారం నాది అవుతుంది. ‘కన్నప్ప’ కథ కల్పితం కాదు. కన్నప్ప ఉన్నారు.. ఇప్పటికీ ఆయన్ను ఆరాధిస్తుంటారు. మళ్లీ చెబుతున్నాను ‘కన్నప్ప’ కల్పితం కాదు.. చరిత్ర.. మన చరిత్ర. మన మధ్యలో జీవించినవాడు’ అని అన్నారు.
*ముఖేష్ కుమార్ సింగ్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘నేను ఇంత వరకు కన్నప్ప గురించి ఎంతో చెప్పాను. మోహన్ బాబు గారు, విష్ణు గారు నాకు ఈ అవకాశం ఇచ్చారు. మేం కన్నప్ప చిత్రాన్ని గొప్పగా తెరకెక్కించాం. ఇక ఇప్పుడు మేం మా పనికి తగ్గ ప్రతిఫలం వస్తుందా? అని ఎదురుచూస్తున్నాం. మేం ఆడియెన్స్ ఇచ్చే ఫలితం కోసం వెయిట్ చేస్తున్నాం. కన్నప్ప గురించి ఇప్పటి తరానికి ఎక్కువగా తెలియదు. భక్తి, దేవుడు అనే వాటి మీద నమ్మకం లేని వ్యక్తి.. చివరకు గొప్ప శివ భక్తుడిలా ఎలా మారాడు? అన్నది ప్రపంచానికి తెలియజేయాలని ఈ ‘కన్నప్ప’ సినిమాను తీశాం. ఇందులో ప్రతీ పాత్రకు అందరూ ప్రాణం పెట్టి నటించారు. పూర్తి నిర్మలమైన మనసుతో సినిమాను చూడండి. మీరిచ్చే తీర్పుని గౌరవిస్తాను’ అని అన్నారు.
*కెమెరామెన్ షెల్డన్ చౌ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘‘కన్నప్ప’ చిత్రం అద్భుతంగా వచ్చింది. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా సెకండాఫ్‌లోని చివరి గంట గొప్పగా వచ్చింది. క్లైమాక్స్ కంటతడి పెట్టిస్తుంది’ అని అన్నారు.
*శివ బాలాజీ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘భూమ్మీద అతి సుందరమైన ప్రదేశంలో(న్యూజిలాండ్) షూటింగ్ చేశాం. ప్రస్తుతం సినిమా మీద పూర్తిగా పాజిటివిటీ ఏర్పడింది. ఇలాంటి చిత్రాలు చాలా అరుదుగా వస్తుంటాయి. ఇలాంటి సినిమాలు చేయడం, నిర్మించడం అంత ఈజీ కాదు. నేను కన్నప్ప చిత్రాన్ని ఆల్రెడీ చూశాను. ఒట్టేసి చెబుతున్నా సినిమా అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుంది’ అని అన్నారు.
*నటుడు కౌశల్ మాట్లాడుతూ* .. ‘మా ‘కన్నప్ప’ చిత్రం జూన్ 27న రాబోతోంది. మన తెలుగు వాళ్లకు దాదాపు మళ్లీ 50 ఏళ్ల తరువాత కన్నప్ప చిత్రాన్ని ఈ తరానికి తగ్గట్టుగా విష్ణు అందిస్తున్నారు. విజువల్ వండర్‌గా, గ్రాండియర్‌గా ఈ మూవీని నిర్మించారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న తరమంతా కూడా కన్నప్ప చిత్రాన్ని చూడాలి’ అని అన్నారు.
